Hey everyone! Hopefully I'm posting this in the right forum. If not, feel free to move it to whereever it belongs :) I wanted to share my work with all you Zelda geeks out there. Last summer I spent about 4 months and lots of money making a Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past board game. I had so much fun making it and me and some buddies play it occasionally. I just wanted to get your opinions on it. I based it off an old board game called Key to the Kingdom. I designed the board in photoshop, copying and pasting carefully all the SNES sprites from the game. and then I printed the sheets and put them on poster board. Of course this is more of a prototype but its still fun to play. I made the treasures, equipment and monster cards and got them laminated to have a glossy look. The link pieces were made from someone i found on etsy.com.

The pics are of the Link playing pieces, the light world side of the board and then it opens up into the darkworld side just like key to the kingdom did. The item and moster cards plus the equipment sheets.

Much to my surprise there were a couple of articles written about it on Zelda Dungeon and Zelda Universe which was very nice!

If you want to see more pics and info, go to my boardgamegeek site

here's my tutorial on youtube:

Let me know if anyone in NJ wants to get together and play this. And I'd be more than happy to bring it to the store to show as well :)

You mean for Comic Con? No...I actually just started sharing this online like 2 weeks ago. I don't think I'd be able to show it off at comic con or anything like that...but alot of ppl in the zelda geek world seem to dig it!

That is pretty nifty - are you gonna make any to sell - if so I would certainly be interested.

Unfortunately I'm not selling it. However...I am letting everyone download all the files so they can make it themselves. If you are interested in building it yourself let me know and I can send you the files :)

Unfortunately that would break the 1'st Rules and Conduct of Kickstarter and would likely get it removed. "You shall not...Submit Content, that: infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, ...". That would go for selling it as well if Nintendo ever found out, though it would likely fly under their radar.

It does look fun though...and well designed. Looks a lot better than that official LoZ Board game that was made years ago.

yea i have no plans of selling this. I contacted nintendo but they of course dont accept outside ideas. I have been asking around various board game publishers that are allowed to publish nintendo items though. I'm not holding my breath though. I'm just happy everyone seems to like this :)

That looks really awesome! I remember playing Key to the Kingdom quite a bit as a kid, though I don't know how well it'd hold my interest anymore. A Zelda theme would definitely be interesting though.

I actually submitted this boardgame to a company that is licensed with Nintendo products...it takes 30-90 days for a response though and that is even IF they like it..lol...but what the hell it was worth a shot right?
