Not sure who thinks this would be a good idea, but if true, I guess not too far of a stretch considering the enemies Samus faces. Personally, would rather see a devoted Star Fox game, as there hasn't been a new one in some time. A new Star Fox game would be especially nice with the rumored, and supposedly already discarded, 4-player co-op mentioned in the second link.

Hmm. If this is real, not sure how I feel about it.

If true, it's very unnecessary. A stand alone Metroid Prime, 2D Metroid, or StarFox would sell like hotcakes on any system.
Have some faith in your franchises Nintendo, like we do.

A Metroid version of Starfox is the only thing that would make the series relevant any longer. There are so many on rail games that are far better than any of the Star Fox games you have to wonder if they only receive the praise that they do because they're Nintendo.
Another 2D Metroid would be great though. I thought Metroid Fusion was a great game, but for being too linear, or not being as good as Super Metroid which is an almost unrealstic expectation.

If this is true, and Retro is involved, it'll be the first good game involving Star Fox since Star Fox 64. Sure is taking them forever to make another Star Fox game.

I hope not.
I very much prefer to keep both game universes really separate. Somehow seeing humans in Star Fox... or furry things in Metroid... feels completely wrong.
What next, Samus visits a planet and finds an iteration of Hyrule there? Star Fox meets Kirby? Mario meets Earthbound?
... well okay that last one would rock.

Too late. It was called Super Smash Bros.

As strange as it sounds, count me interested if it's Retro Studios.

They can't butcher the Star Fox series anymore then they already have/ That series has been dead for over a decade.

A "Metroid version" of Star Fox would be (potentially) amazing... if that means gameplay, and not touching the actual Metroid universe.

The last three Star Fox games did not receive especially lavish praise. This isn't the 90s; please update your records accordingly.

Technically not. Remember that they were toys or something in that game.

If we start arguing about continuity in Nintendo games, this is gonna be a looooooooong thread. ;)

Then they find and team up with Sonic the Hedgehog and fight Dr. Robotnik together, and you find out that somehow Dr. Robotnik and Samus are related to each other.

I'm actually really interested in this mash up. Generally I'm a big fan of crossovers if they are done the right way. I'm not going to go burning crosses on Nintendo's front lawn until I see 100% proof of this and see how it looks and plays if it is real.

Whut? Fox was a fighter.... so was Samus, no 'toys' there. You could call in Slippy and the others for a strafe run when you picked up the powerups. SHIT BE REAL.

I thought Command was pretty solid, and Assault was great when you were actually in the Arwing - especially on rails. But Adventures had no saving grace.
