Anyone know details on these? There are a few on eBay for exorbitant prices so I figured I should take a shot on them for $20. Some are listing them as kiosk/demo unit items. Is that correct? It seems odd that a generically branded set of wireless headphones would command the premium people seem to be asking ($75-$100).

I remember reading about that in Game Informer back in the day. According to them, Nintendo was just whoring their name out (which is a bit unusual for them). (and if I recall, the original suggested price was something like $50-60. Rather expensive, so I don't imagine they sold too well.)
But the Nintendo name is probably exactly why some people are willing to pay it. Serious collectors, maybe? I'd imagine it's around the time that N64 kiddies would be growing up and becoming N64 collectors.
I remember GI also said Nintendo licensed their name out to the same company to make a PC flight stick (I think), which is even more bizzare.@_@

I think it's just a Nintendo branded item like SparTonberry suggested. I have seen other items from that era such as a Game Boy Color branded cassette player.

If these headphones came with a pass-through cable to route the sound from the system output, then they would be pretty cool.
Hori made a series of dual-shock controllers for the PS2 which use a pass through cable to send audio into the controller so a headphones may be plugged directly into the controller. They are damn hard to come by!

I've seen N64 branded cameras and alarm clock/radios before, they weren't worth much.

LOL I just looked these up on Ebay. One of the sellers is known on another forum I'm on.

There was an entire thread made about this seller when he posted ads on Kijiji(like craigslist) just to say how stupid his prices were for everything he was selling. He wanted to charge a $50 "viewing fee" for people interested in looking at a large collection of games he was selling, you would have to pay the fee up front before being able to look at anything.

The seller even joined the forum just to defend himself in the thread, apparently he frequently googles his name and website to see who knows about him. His own website is full of random "services" he's trying to sell. It was one of the most entertaining threads on that forum just destroying his credibility.
