I went to Cedar Point last week before the big holiday crowds. Here are some pictures of the main arcade and maybe a few of the smaller ones. They added more redemption machines and many of the classic games were still out of order. <sigh>

Nice photo set. It's odd how arcades went from mechanical games, to video games, and then back to mechanical games again.

It's been about a decade since I've been to Cedar Point and was expecting this thread to be about how there were no longer any arcades on the peninsula. Personally, thought there was a good selection of games (did I glimpse a JP3 cabinet?), but understand the disappointment in a move to ticket redemption games.

I think the deal is ticket redeption games is what people want. Makes them feel like they are getting something in return for their play time.. Like going to the carnival and you play the dart throwing game and try to win a stuffed animal toy or something.

Funspot in Laconia NH ticket redemption games were running like crazy while the arcade museum while still good foot travel... not as hopping as the ticket redemption machine sections

Super nice pics, thanks for sharing. Some nice titles but it's a shame it looks like they got rid of their Virtual On. Ah well, can't stop progress I guess, I'm just thrilled that there are still active arcades out there.
