What video games have you ditched important events for

Like you missed a wedding because FF-whatever came out the day prior. What games made you miss something important cause they were just that good.

I accidentally beat FFVII for the first time then go to my then girlfriend's bake off... oops.


we ended up breaking up. I'm with my fiancee of three years now and she's dating a convicted rapist.

I ditched work for FFVII

I used to try to ditch my ex to play games sometimes, but then he'd come over and want to watch me play. :/ Videogames are supposed to be done ALONE

I exaggerated an ankle injury (I hurt it a tiny bit, but I could've easily played) so I could play Super Mario Bros. 3 instead of playing Little League baseball. My coach even came to my house to check up on me.

And I LOVE to play baseball! :)

Playing Ultima Online all night made me miss MANY early morning classes in college.

I blew off plenty of classes playing Marvel VS and pinball in college, but I'd hardly call that "important."

We used to ditch school strictly to go and play Mortal Kombat all day in the arcades.

Also, I take days off from work just to play video games once in awhile. Its the best stress relief. Just last Friday, I took off work and played Metal Slug, Metal Slug 3 and Sonic Wings 3 most of the day on my AES. I have to do that once in awhile because there is just not enough time to get in quality game time after work during the week.

I never missed anything important, but once or twice during my 2 years of EQ I opted to stay in to go on a raid. It did however make me fail 2 classes one semester, I never studied or did assignments, just played EQ. Blessing in disguise I tell ya, if I hadn't failed those 2 classes I wouldnt have been able to take 2 VERY important classes to transfer to my real college now so I can move on next semester.

I miss work EVERY year when Madden comes out.

I almost missed work last week when I got in a groove on Gangster Alley (VCS) and was about to roll it, but my damned sense of responsibility kicked in and I caved. x_x :(

I've missed several movies at the theatre because I got wrapped up on the Ms. Pac-man machine (As recently as the Hulk)

And I was very tempted to skip class and play DDR Max all day when that came out last fall. I don't know how I can keep myself from doing that with Max 2 this year.

The japanese class heard a rumor that our local arcade was getting ParaPara and DDR Extreme last year, and a bunch of us skipped our whole day of college classes to go play.

And this one kid we invited went to japanese instead, and "tattled" on us. Fucking Narc.

I had a cough once and I exaggerated it to seem like I was almost dying. I stayed home all day and played all my handheld systems and whatever other games I had.

The next time I didn't go to school was the time I passed out at 4 a.m. of the day I missed, and at the top of my staircase. I don't fake being ill anymore.
