i've been getting into Independent gaming recently, anyone have any suggestions in the platformer genre or action? And some i'm going to list some that are new, and some old (i think it's for modern gaming forums) as examples:

VVVVVV http://thelettervsixtim.es/ Awesome action platforming game-my favorite indie game so far, with great design, awesome music, and satisfying yet not too challenging.

Don't look back- http://www.kongregate.com/games/TerryCavanagh/dont-look-back Awesome, short, yet fun and retro.

Ninja Senki http://ninjasenki.com/ Fun platforming action game not unlike Mega Man-hard, too.

Of course, Abobo's Big Adventure http://abobosbigadventure.com/ which has been mentioned before here, but pure awesome.

Any suggestions?

Star Guard (http://vacuumflowers.com/star_guard/) is a few-years-old indie I stumbled across recently. I love the style and the design of this game. The gameplay is concise without feeling lacking, although not very difficult. I like the little flourishes here and there that give you a slight sense that you're in a world with a life of its own rather than just a series of levels, and the manner in which the story is delivered throughout the game I thought was well-done.

On another forum I go to, a member has a huge list of freeware games. Plenty are up to quality with commercially released indie games. His master list is on CAG.

Yeah, thanks everybody. I'm checking these out now. I've played a lot of next gen games, but i'm frankly sick of where it's going and enjoy indie games much more (ones like vvvvvv anyway) and also older games.
