So recently, I installed Toonstruck. While seeing the intro, I noticed these annoying scan-lines running across it and I have a feeling that they will appear in other cinematic scenes.
This youtube video shows exactly what I'm experiencing:

Is there a certain setting I have to have so that I can't see them? I'm using DOSBox.
I tried looking through the official forums of DOSBox and it didn't help me. Someone suggested to turn the scan-lines option off but I don't see an option to turn off scan-lines, nor do I think that option even exists. Thanks in advance.

Go to the options menu, apparently changing the quality will add / remove these scanlines.
You can also use ScummVM. :P

I really should play this game, I've had it for years but never got around to it. It looked like a good game.
More recently there are plans to either release a sequel to this or to release an enhanced version of Toonstruck with extra scenes added, I'm hoping it will be successful and released in the near future. The released version of Toonstruck only contained half of the finished material, the other half was meant to be used in a sequel which didn't happen in the 90's.

Wow, this game seems to be a who's-who of 90s cartoon voice talent.

I think I tried changing the quality but it just sets to high, once again, if I start up the game again. I didn't, however, try to play the game on ScummVM. Maybe that will fix the scan-lines.
Also, yeah, the game is amazing! I hope they release an enhanced version of the game. However, they should let you switch between the old version and new one like they did with Monkey Island I & II. Heck, they got some of the same voice actors of Curse of Monkey Island and fully voiced them too, which is awesome! I know they are enhancing Leisure Suit Larry and releasing it soon. And Al Lowe said that if it does well, they going to enhanced the other Larry games. Developers gotta do that with all point & click games! I'm really hope that Maniac Mansion & Zak McKracken will be next!

I'm really hope that Maniac Mansion & Zak McKracken will be next!Pff. LucasArts doesn't give a darn. Then again, they did do things with Dig and Loom and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis recently, so maybe there's hope.
In the meantime, there are extensive fan works based on both Maniac Mansion and Zak McKracken.

The fan work that really stuck out for me the most was Zak McKracken & The Lonely Sea Monster. I have no idea if the game is still in the works or if it's released. I know the demo is.
On the Maniac Mansion side of things, Night of the Meteor....HOLY SMOKES does that version look awesome. I love how they gave the whole game a Day of the Tentacle look!

If you mean the stuff that's on Steam, they're just slightly updated versions of Aaron Giles' SCUMM Windows Port from 2002.

On a side note, I changed the title of the thread since we are talking about other Point & Click games. LoL Anyways, I think that in general these types of games are making a comeback. And I'm glad they are cause, as some of you already know, I'm a huge fan of these games. Since Replay Games are ex Sierra members, maybe they might bring back King's Quest and Space Quest (I've never played Space Quest...:(). I was seeing an interview with Ron Gilbert, and he was saying that he would definately work on a remake of Maniac Mansion and fix some of the flaws in the game, whenever Lucasarts decides to do that or not.

A bit of a late response in regards to playing Toonstruck on ScummVM. It seems like the scan lines aren't visible when running it on ScummVM but I noticed I can't access the menu screen of the game when I am playing. Is there any way to set ScummVM to run the game's original menu? I tried looking at the manual but can't find anything on it.
EDIT: Oh wait, nvm. It says if I press Alt+F5, I can access the game's original menu but for some reason...it doesn't work with Toonstruck.
