These pages were never previously available on Digital Press, but since I've been working with the museum staff (I'm the curator again this year!) I needed to dig back into the photo files and see what stays, what goes. We have a TON of new stuff this year.

But in case you're not going, or just want to take a look back at last year's exhibit, behold...

THE CLASSIC GAMING EXPO MUSEUM (http://www.digitpress.com/images/cge2k2/museum/)

How's that for an intro. 8-)

WOW.

Can't. Wait. Have I mentioned that I've bought new shoes just for this trip so my feet don't start killing me halfway through the day like they normally do? 'Cause I'm gonna be on my feet looking at this stuff for 48 hours STRAIGHT.

One question...what the heck is the Telegames Personal Arcade (next to the Colecovision stuff)? That's a completely new one on me.

Other question...I'm taking it as a given that this is all "do not touch" stuff, but is it kosher to try to position a camera to take some reasonably "overhead" shots of these things? Not talking about dangling myself over the table or anything. Thought I'd better ask ahead. I just like those overhead shots for my site. ;)

The Telegames Personal Arcade was Telegame's own Colecovision spin off. Supposed to be 95% compatible with existing Colecovision carts, and sported two NES-like joypads. A numeric pad was on the console. It was not compatible with any of the expansion modules or super action controllers however. I believe Telegames lost all of their remaining stock of this unit (dubbed "Dina") in a hurricaine. I almost ordered one almost ten years ago, but passed when I found I would not be able to use the expansions!

It's more or less "do not touch" (unless one of the CGE Staff are with you) but cameras are welcome and you can shoot any way you'd like. I'm trying to work the displays so they're more tiered instead of flat, so we may eliminate the need to get fancy with the cameras if we can prop things up on supported shelves.

Wow, I'm probably showing my relative n00bness... but a lot of that stuff I hadn't seen before.

Did I see an Atari '5100' and '2800'? Guh-zuh?

I wish I could go, but perhaps with a bit over a year of a jump start I can start saving now for next year's :-D

I snagged several of those sticker packs at a flea market a few years ago.

The Museum has always been my favorite part of the show the last 4 years. Lots of crazy stuff! Sad I have to miss it this year. :(
