wasimkadak writes "This robot hand will play a game of rock, paper, scissors with you. Sounds like fun, right? Not so much, because this particular robot wins every. Single. Time. It only takes a single millisecond for the robot to recognize what shape your hand is in, and just a few more for it to make the shape that beats you, but it all happens so fast that it's more or less impossible to tell that the robot is waiting until you commit yourself before it makes its move, allowing it to win 100% of the time." http://a.fsdn.com/sd/twitter_icon_large.png (http://twitter.com/home?status=Robot+Hand+Beats+You+At+Rock%2C+Paper% 2C+Scissors+100%25+of+the+Time%3A+http%3A%2F%2Fbit .ly%2FMoMilk) http://a.fsdn.com/sd/facebook_icon_large.png (http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fhardware.slashdot.org%2F story%2F12%2F06%2F27%2F0530254%2Frobot-hand-beats-you-at-rock-paper-scissors-100-of-the-time%3Futm_source%3Dslashdot%26utm_medium%3Dfacebo ok) http://www.gstatic.com/images/icons/gplus-16.png (http://plus.google.com/share?url=http://hardware.slashdot.org/story/12/06/27/0530254/robot-hand-beats-you-at-rock-paper-scissors-100-of-the-time?utm_source=slashdot&utm_medium=googleplus)

It seems to me that there should be a way to "fool" the robot. Like on the third swing put your hand in the shape of one but picking another just before landing.

Random story: As a kid I used to win Paper-Rock-Scissor ALL THE TIME by simply training my eye to be really fast. I could see what the other had picked before the landing and made up my mind at the very last second. I doubt I'd be able to do it now though.
