I am Looking for a good Shooter for the NES. But I wan't one that I can play for 30 min or so and save.
I am also open to any suggestions for a good 2D shooter for the PSone/PS2 format.

I don't think there are any shmups that you can save on the NES. Well....except Guardian Legend, but that isn't a true shmup by ANY means.

While not a true SHMUP, I think Gun.Smoke is an awesome vertical shooter. So is 1943. And Galaga. And side-scrollers Life Force and Gradius are excellent as well. As is Seicross. And BreakThru... hey, come to think of it, there are a LOT of good shooter games for the NES!

Gun Nac for the NES is one of my favorite shooters of all time. I didnt even know about it until recently. I dont think it takes much longer than 30 minutes to beat so I dont know if a save is necessary.
Any other Gun Nac fans?

Yeah, really, if you're talking shoot-em-ups, you should be done with the game after 30 minutes. Unless you're playing an endless looper like Tiger Heli. I mean, who can be expected to demonstrate flawless reflexes for much more than 30 minutes at a time?

Yeah, Gun*Nac is a vastly underrated game.
1943 has passwords (I believe they are only 5 characters long), so you can technically save this game after 30 minutes or so.

Yeah, I recently discovered Gun Nac...what an awesome game!
Guardian Legend is the best way to go....I can't help but think it is some kind of weird sequel to Zanac.
Sure It's not a true shooter, but that's only because half the game is overhead adventure, half is awesome crazy-ass tough shooter scenes....the best on the NES, imho.
