I'm currently using a Game Genie to play import games on my Genesis model 2 as either a simple pass through or a way to enter passwords to bypass the region lockouts.

I'm looking into getting a 32X, but seeing as that sits on top of the Genesis, will I be able to use my Game Genie through the top of the 32X to continue playing imports or will I have to remove the 32X.

I've looked on line and can't find much other than people asking if there are Game Genie Codes for 32x games which I'm not interested in.

I'm foolishly thinking logically that since the 32X allows play of original Genesis games through the add on itself, that using a Game Genie on top of it should not be an issue ( Other than the ridiculously sheer height of such a set up )

Thanks for your time. :help:

32X is shaped to fit most normal size games and consoles of any region.

But it only helps region free games. You still need Game Genie or similar to play games with a lockout check.

The game genie works perfectly fine with the 32X attached.

Cool, Didn't want to make an investment to find out I'd have to take down the 32X to play in imports of vice versa.

No Game Genie to play imports without lockouts makes it sound like an even better Idea now.
I was skeptical of that as the top of the 32X looks shaped to only accept American NTSC games, but if it accepts Japanese NTSC games that's a huge plus!
Aside from Pulseman and Gunstar Heroes, I don't have any games requiring a code due to region lockout so I can put that ghastly GG away until I play them.

Thanks so much for the quick replies. :)

Europe version Classic Collection (if you can find it reasonable price) removed the Gunstar Heroes region check, and still contains both languages based on console setting.

PAL wouldn't be an issue on an NTSC system?

I will have to keep a lookout then.

I usually go after Japanese versions because I like the box art better and the full color manuals. FTW!

Not usually. Much like Japan imports, it's game specific.
