Hey guys, haven't been around much lately but wanted to share with you guys my latest project.

To celebrate 800 subscribers on youtube, I've gone and made my most extensive review of a Famiclone ever.

Come learn all there is to know about Innovation's TriStar/Super 8, released in 1995 for the SNES - a device that lets you play NES and Famicom games right on your SNES.

Satoshi, what do you think a fair price for one of these is? Not seeing a lot of info on Google.

Now I got a dumb curious question after you played Metroid. :D
Perhaps you've heard Metroid has one password that can crash the game (it causes the game to try to read from the wrong place in ROM, resulting in undefined upcodes.)
ENGAGE RIDLEY
MOTHER FUCKER
(it was actually one of the first things someone tried when the 3DS Ambassador version was released. Turns out it actually crashed the 3DS.
On a real NES, it just gives a blank screen.
On the GBA (I tested it on Zero Mission), the game will auto-reset. (the emulator is probably coded to reset the game as a failsafe when encountering undefined codes (or "illegal operations").
On some emulators, it sticks Samus in the Brinstar starting room, but without scrolling, so she's stuck in that room.

Super 8's aren't very common anymore, but they do occasionally pop up on ebay and gaming forums. I paid about $50 for mine, though I bought it quite a long time ago from a seller on Racketboy.

I have no idea what will happen. Since the Super 8 is an accurate clone, I would assume that it too would yeild a blank screen.

Reading another article on the Super 8, it says that it actually emulated the lack of Start/Select for player 2 on the Famicom.
(the most famous example is probably the US/EU versions of Battletoads, where on the two title screens, you had to press Start on the first then second controllers to play a 2P game.
Though to get around that, the JP version added a menu to the second title screen, with copyright text)
If so, that's too bad.
