Shenmue: Disc 3 won't load

Has anyone else had this problem? I just beat Disc 2 and now Disc 3 only boots a black screen. I bought this game new back in the day and this is the first time I've ever tried to boot up the third disc, so I know it's not a scratch or condition issue.

Did you mod your dream cast at all? Also, are you using the VGA box? Not all games support it. Usually the console will tell you when there's an error with that, but not always. You can always force it to use the VGA box by using a boot disc.

It could have been a manufacturing error, too. You could always try resurfacing it and see what happens. That's fixed a number of sega cd and saturn games for me.

Have you tried checking for disc rot? It's not a terribly old game but it happens fairly often even on discs from the 90s.

If it is disc rot though, there's nothing you can do about it other than get a new disc.

Will Shenmue Disc 3 fit on a CD-R? I'd look for an ISO and burn a copy since you should be able to play the game you have a legit copy of, even if you have to resort to non-legit means to do so.
