I'm searching for Pokémon Distribution Carts/Systems and Events of the Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance and DS/3DS age.

I would have assumed the Distribution carts were harder to get then the NFR carts since the distros were only used to special events.

Argumentative. 4500-ish ds distribution carts are created but the vast majority are destroyed or returned making it virtually impossible to figure out how many are still "alive".

I meant to say that they are common if compared with GBA or GBC Distribution Carts, in fact DS Distribution Carts can be easily found on eBay or forums like this.
