So a friend of a friend has a Lunar to complete which I'm pretty sure includes everything. I was told they want $50 for it and I'd have to drive an hour out of the way. They won't budge on the price and I'm trying to get the best deal possible for it. What is good ole' DP's opinion on it? good, bad, fair? I'd like to own the game but if I were going to pay market value for it I would have done soo already. Any opinions will help.

That's basically the market value of the item.
Auctions seem to be ending around $35 to $60 on eBay most of the time.

That's a solid baseline, but make sure they have all the stuff. People tend to loose the pendants that came with it for some reason, and if the standees have been opened than that lowers the value as well.

Other things to note are probably:

1) The condition of the box and whether or not the glue has started to separate from parts of it, this is common with them and I'm pretty sure due to being stored in a warm environment.

2) Who are on the discs. There are two variants as pointed out by Game-Rave/Dangerboy here (http://www.game-rave.com/psx/playstation_perfect_guide/releasedgames/lunar2/index.html).
In my experience the support cast is the much more difficult to find and has a slight premium over the main cast.
