View Full Version : Have we seen the last PSone releases?

I haven't heard anything about any new PSone games.

Black & White has disappeared without a trace, Eminem is being sued for bowing out of his PSone game (a good thing?) and none of the vidgame magazines are listing any release info about new PSone games, let alone reviewing the few that have trickled out over the past few months.

Have we seen the last one? Can anyone point me to an updated release schedule of PSone games? X_x

A baseball game just came out this month call "Big Leagure Slugger Baseball." I just won a copy on E-bay.

Hey DP, thanks!

Lots of sports, but a few interesting games as well!

Of course, ebgames says the Eminem game is being released at the end of next month. He's being sued for pulling out of the deal... I guess these lists are subject to change, but I'm glad to see more. We may have new games in 2004! A straight nine year run?!?

Yes, it looks like the last NA PS One games will be indeed released in early 2004. In Japan, I expect them to last even longer, since N64 and Dreamcast games are still being published over there.

I spotted a game called Dirt Jockey today.

Btw, big list update before CGE. ;)

Thanks to the fine invention which was mentioned here (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16161), my PSone's gonna be stocked for LIFE. Who'd'a thought I'd be playing DONKEY KONG on it?

Holy crap, they're bringing The Sniper (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=261570) to the US?! Awesome! I played through the Japanese version awhile back, and it's really fun for a $10 game. Here's hoping that A1/Tommo actually translates the story instead of removing it, like what XS Games has been doing with their budget releases...

What is The Sniper like anyway? I tried to find some info & screen shots online but couldn't find any.

It's a story-driven game where you're...uh, a sniper, and you shoot people. What makes it interesting is that it's not really much at all like Silent Scope - each stage has you on a rooftop, looking through your scope at city streets and crowded places for one particular target, who you have to kill with a single bullet, and without hurting all the innocent people wandering around. Later stages add more complex objectives, and the last stage...well, have fun trying to figure that one out on your own, eheh.

The game's pretty short, and the graphics aren't the best (it's a Simple 1500-series game, after all), but I think the unique concept and gameplay make it worth a look. And for ten bucks, you really can't go wrong.

I believe by the same company who made that "Easter Bunny" game, right? Mastiff Games I think...

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried out Big League Slugger Baseball?? I'm very interested in that one. Is it pretty much available at the usual places? Best Buy, EB, etc.??

I refused to believe that anyone would release a game called "The Sniper" in America, so I gave Agetec a call, and sho'nuff, it's going to be renamed "Silent Tactics" in the States. A good call, as it implies a (nonexistent) link with Silent Scope, and it won't get the game banned by Wal-Mart.
