hi !
I receive an item from ebay. When i open the box ! what the hell is that ? The game is on a "2 rows" PS1 cd case (like FF7-8-9) but only 1 place to put a cd...
And i can see on the inside/front --- Vandal Heart Coming Soon !
Why the hell is that ? First release of the game ??

I think that's just the normal release of the game. I never understood why Konami packaged it in a double-sized box, since the manual will fit in a regular jewel case. In fact, a number of people actually put their copies of Suikoden in single-disc cases, just to rid themselves of that lousy cover art.

Half the RPG's I own for PSOne are one disc in 2 disc cases. It's mainly because of the manuals being too big to fit in a regular jewel case, but most of them do fit and the developers are just too lazy to get them in there. It was probably some sony regulation though saying "manuals bigger than xx pages must be in a double disc case." Probably somewhere in the 25-30 range.

That's the only way Suikoden 1 was released. It never came in a regular case, only in the double case.

Sorry but i bough a lot of Suikoden 1 sealed in 1 cd case and resell it on ebay...

At least domestically it was only packaged in a double disc case, I don't know about PAL or JP.

Suikoden 1 was only released in a double disc case. Genso Suikoden aka the Japanese version was released in a single cd case. Suikoden 2 was of course released only in a single cd case. Now you know...and know is half the battle.

Correct sir! I'd only been talking about the US release, not imports. The Jp version (both Saturn and PSX) were in single cases, and I'm not sure about hte PAL release, but the US one only ever came in a double case.

When I bought my copy of Suikoden in January 1997 I opened it on the way to my car, and I actually went back into the store and asked them if it was supposed to be two discs or one. They assured me that it only came with one disk, but I was still a bit skeptical. :)
