It's a ps2 game. It's an import, it looks like an airplane crashed head first into sand on a beach. It has blue skyes and clouds in the background with Japanese text on the right side of the box. I have seen it several times in collections but its never named.

Pretty much most Cave games go for insane prices these days, this is lower than the prices I have seen them go for lately ($110+).

How about http://www.cave-stg.com/?page_id=82 ?
http://hg101.kontek.net/alpha.htm has reviews of most of them, but you'll have to pick them out from the list.
They are a bit pointless in my mind; there are plenty of these "bullet hell" games out there, and I don't think they really stand out from one another. They all come down to dodging pointlessly large numbers of bullets. http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu/index_e.html has some pretty nice ones for free.

They do all look alike. Very hard and pointless but pretty.

These are the types of games I mostly play these days (bullet hell/danmaku), except I hate Touhou shmups.
They look similar on the surface, but are pretty different from one another. However you actually have to play and understand the game to realize that. It's definitely not for everyone. It's kind of like dedicating time to learning a fighting game. Also they're not like "old style"/traditional shmups where you casually blow stuff up and simply try to stay alive.
If you want to learn more about shmups, check out this forum:

Cave stuff can get very expensive. Especially complete kits of arcade boards. People have been known to pay 100+ for a plain brown cardboard box that has a Cave logo on it to complete their arcade PCB kit.
Sometimes though, the ports can exceed the cost of an actual arcade board. Example is the game Ibara.
