Interesting, I live in Plano. Are your books going to be for sale there, or are you only signing them for those who bring them?

I'll have all three for sale.

I'll have all three for sale.

Excellent. Only 1 of the 3 is available in paperback on Amazon.

As of just a few days ago, you can now buy all my books directly from me through my blog:

And I won't be going to this.

After buying 12 games there yesterday, I went in today to exchange the case of 1 of them from the Blockbuster case it was in to a true PS2 case. The employee on duty acted like I was the biggest pain in the ass just for coming in and interrupting his phone call. When I asked if he could change the case, he reluctantly agreed and gave me another generic DVD case. I said "no, don't you have 1 with the PS2 memory card holder in it?" He actually said "No. Not unless you want me to go through ever case I have." He relented and gave me what I asked for, but they clearly don't want my business.

Interestingly, I just got a call from the owner, who was the employee who helped me. He had read my post, and he talked with his employee who helped me yesterday to find out who I was. He went through some raffle tickets I had filled out to get my phone number.

He admitted that he had treated me badly, he made no excuses, and he apologized sincerely.

Everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone owns up to them. More businesses should act this way.

Apology accepted.

And now I'll apologize for hijacking this thread.

I used to live in the Plano/Richardson area, wish I could be there. I now live just outside Denver, due to a work transfer. I'll be back.

Good on you. Sounds like forgiveness is appropriate here, what with the sincere apology and all. I used to own a couple of comic book stores, and I probably had a day or two when I wasn't at my best.

My lady and I will likely be attending. We don't got a lot of extra cash to spend right now, so I can't promise we'll be buying anything besides admission, but we'll see. I was in an FX three or four years ago and they still had a lunchbox tin of the Messiah NES controllers. I wonder if any of those might turn up. I've wanted the damned receivers for those things for years.

I had to miss Retro Runner Replay because of a death in the family. I hope many games were played, many laughs were had, and some new friendships were forged.

I hated to miss it. I hope the store has another event like this sometime in the not too distant future.

I was there and hung out for about an hour and a half or so. I got to play a few systems I'd never played, including a Vectrex, a Neo Geo AES, and a Dreamcast.
