The North American Club Nintendo hub has on sale a limited quantity of gold nunchuck accessories, priced at 900 coins each. We think that's a very reasonable price for a handful of pure, unfiltered gold with some wiring down the middle. Seriously, Nintendo has to be taking a hit for each one of these it sells, right? Oh - they're not solid gold? And Nintendo made sure to point that out in the description, reminding us once again that somewhere, someone might have actually thought a scenario like that was possible? Oh.

The gold (colored, not plated or solid) nunchucks match the gold Wii Remote Plus that came with limited editions of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Interested parties can purchase a gold nunchuck right here (https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/29508.do).http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif (http://www.joystiq.com)Gold nunchucks for sale at North American Club Nintendo (http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/09/gold-nunchucks-for-sale-at-north-american-club-nintendo/) originally appeared on Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com) on Thu, 09 Aug 2012 16:30:00 EST. Just ordered one.

Finally something decent from the Japanese Club to spend my coins on.

dagnabbit, I just recently spent nearly all my coins on the G&W. That seems to be pretty permanent (not to mention cheap enough to get on ebay), and I don't expect these to be around long. oh well.

I need to drum up nearly 700 points and soon to get one of these to go with the Skyward Sword Wii Remote. I had designs on getting the Game & Watch but that will have to wait. :|

Snagged! One of those things I hadn't gotten from Club Japan or eBay yet. Knew I was saving coins for a reason...

I've never used Club Nintendo before, but this sounds worth pursuing. What are the typical game values again?

I have 1240 points and am tempted, but I'm holding off for something unique. Even picky in not getting the GameWatch reproduction. Just a different color finish on a standard Nunchuck does not appeal to me. I hate the ratchet octagon segment action of the stick and prefer a Nyco Karma for the smooth stick movement anyways. Come on Nintendo, where is the SNES Classic Controller!

Go to Home Depot, buy some gold paint, there you go.

Yeah, that and the gold Classic Controller Pro that came with Goldeneye 007 makes it a set.

I have boxes full of DS cases I've gotten from GameStops.
I pulled some out and registered some of the games (most of which I already owned) using a family account.
That was enough to put me well over Platinum for the year and score me a golden Nunchuck controller.

I figure with all the upcoming 3DS, Wii, and Wii U games, I shouldn't have any trouble getting any new rewards they put out.

Just posted in the "August Finds" thread...how about one more time...

I ordered it the day it became available from Club Nintendo. It arrived today. YMMV.

You can check which games you can get points from and how many here:

DS games are generally 30 points, Wii games are 50 points. You usually get an extra 10 points if you register within 6 weeks of the game launching, and then there's the 10 point post play survey.

It's mostly Nintendo own, or Nintendo published titles.

How long do points last? I have acquired a few over the years but have never been inclined to use them yet.

According to ClubNintendo:

Do Coins Expire?

Answer:

Yes. Unredeemed Coins expire after 2 Club Nintendo years (July 1-June 30). When logged in, you can view your Coin Balance with the account information at the top of the page. See Terms and Conditions for more information.

You can find more under the "Coins & Elite Status" header. http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/club/en/faq.jsp

Not any more. Nintendo's now opened up the program to third party titles and alike for 3DS (most likely WiiU later this year). Though it looks like your milage extensively may vary but overall it's a good move I think many gamers have been wanting for some time now.
