It's just a custom packaging of two discs. I did the same thing.

Nintendo.com used to sell GC cases (singles or doubles). Someone put the Colosseum insert into an empty GC double-case and put both discs in. Nothing more exciting than that.

It seems that way, but what about the "Free disc!" stamp on the upper right? That was never on the regular Pokemon Colosseum.

Yeah, that little sticker does make things more complicated. I can't remember any retailer Colosseum exclusives though.

There are a couple on eBay right now. The BIN one has been sitting there unsold for over a year though.

this is the only copy i have ever seen of this in the wild. and i have had this copy for many years and looked for more like it since i got it... and the 2 listed on ebay that was posted are the only other 2 i have been shown. so im thinking this is pretty rare. and the red jirachi on mine is not a sticker.. its on the paper .
thanks for the info guys.

Is the part number and UPC the same as the regular release?

on the back of the sleeve on the lower left corner it says "not for resale" my experience with stuff like this is it was a pack in game or a give away or a store demo... someone correct me if im wrong. i have had many store demos with not for resale...

i only have this copy so i do not have a upc to compare it to.

did a quick google search and came up with this is a normal upc code "045496961350" for the game and "UPC: 045496961749" for the bonus disc alone.

and this copy has a different upc than both.

here is the upc from the one with the bonus disc included "045496961916"

using the name with the upc# still did not produce where this game came from :/

here is some more info i found on it
http://www.game-ghost.com/2011/05/gamecube-collectors-sets.html

"The Pokemon Colosseum bonus disc provided an exclusive pokemon that could be downloaded to Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire on the Game Boy Advance. It was provided in a separate case as a giveaway, but there is also a limited print run of Pokemon Colosseum that came packaged with the bonus disc inside"

the one posted above just finished out on ebay for 81 bucks. i really think this version of it has slipped under the radar for most people.

here is some more info i dug up on it through ebay. this guy is selling a sealed copy and claims it was a k-mart exclusive preorder.

I'm very sure I remember this being a preorder bonus for the game. Can't remember for the life of me if it was retailer exclusive (don't think it was, though), but I distinctly remember a friend of mine at the time preordering the game, getting the disc and bragging about it (it was middle school so it was a big deal), plus I feel like it was advertised in a few magazines.

Actually, a quick search on Bulbapedia on the disc does state that it was for preorders: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_Colosseum_Bonus_Disc

I dunno if this counts as "solid" proof, but there you go.

As for a value, no clue. I'd imagine it has at least some extra value attached to it, though; I don't remember seeing it on shelves after the game was out like some modern "preorder exclusives".

i know it was a preorder, i have sealed and loose copies of the bonus disc alone.
info on Colosseum and the bonus game packed together is where it gets sketchy. i still have not found with 100% proof where this game originated as a release.

i contacted nintendo to see if they would give me any info on this game and where it was released and this was the response.

"Thanks for contacting us. I'm glad you've taken the time to write in about this Pokemon Colosseum promotion. That's a good find! I can confirm that what you've acquired is Pokemon Colosseum with the bonus disc, which was included for those who pre-ordered and purchased the game from participating retailers. It has a download of Jirachi that can be used with Pokemon Ruby or Pokemon Sapphire if you have a Nintendo GameCube, a Game Boy Advance, and the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable. It also has an insider's preview of Pokemon Colosseum and a sneak peek of the movie "Pokemon: Jirachi Wish Maker."

As for which retailers offered this pre-order bonus, they were Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Electronics Boutique, GameStop, Game Crazy, Kay Bee, Toys R Us, Kmart, Media Play, and Fred Meyer in the United States, and Toys R Us, Future Shop, Best Buy, Microplay, and Electronics Boutique in Canada. The promotion started on February 9, 2004 in the US and February 20, 2004 in Canada. "

Seems plausible, K-mart did have an exclusive Mario Party bundle, so they did have the clout to have something like this done.
