Yes, they're very good. They even add some color for the GB Color.

With the one exception that the version of Yie Ar Kung-Fu is the shitty Famicom version not the arcade version.

Actually, that Goemon game is the exclusive English version of the first Goemon GB game. Only the second game was released in English on a stand-alone cart.

I own a loose EU Vol. 2 and CIB EU vol. 3. I definitely want the EU vol. 4, but it seemed pretty expensive last I checked.

I know the JP version supported the SGB, but was the SGB support included in the EU versions, or was it replaced by the GBC enhancement?
I tried the vol. 2 cart on my NTSC SGB, and they only ran in non-SGB (monochrome) mode.

Too bad it's a so-so Goemon game, though.

They're nice collections. I own the European Vol. 3. The colorization really helped TwinBee Da!! since the trademark of the series is collecting colored bells to power-up, so the b/w graphics of the original makes it tricky to tell the bells apart (which you have to do quickly because they drop off the screen fast, and if you shoot them to keep them up, they'll change color). These days people can just play the high-res PSP remake in TwinBee Portable, but there are enough differences to make the GB/GBC version still worth playing (cut content in the remake, for one).

I own 3 of the 4 of them and I keep forgetting to go after the last one but the problem is other than Parodius on that cart the other 3 games I could give a damn about. I have the GBC versions out of the UK since the Japanese ones are only SuperGB shaded and not in english so they doubly suck.

Vol1 and 4 are the best, it's American titles we got like the Contras, Castlevanias, and Gradius titles for instance and the coloring job on them are done decently to very well depending on which one. I love having Goemon localized into english as that's a fun title too, Yie Ar Kung Fu is a fun pre-street fighter fighting game that plays smoothly, and having portable Twinbee is a blast.

Years ago when GBC was dying down I had all 4 back then but had to let go of my GB/C/A collection in the mid 2000s, sucks too as they were complete.

I was looking into these collections tonight, and there's one thing that has me confused. The common knowledge on these is that they are collections of old Konami Game Boy games, and colorized in the case of the European releases, but it seems that some of the games were never released on Game Boy prior to these collections at all. Unless I'm going crazy, it appears that there aren't any standalone Game Boy releases for Guttang Gottong, Yie Ar Kung-Fu, Antarctic Adventure, and Frogger. Is that really so? That goes against everything I've ever heard about these, and I'm surprised that Konami actually put more effort into these collections than simply dumping four Game Boy games on one cart. I guess they actually took the time to port those four games to Game Boy just for the sake of these collections? But now I'm wondering, are these games unique in any ways, or are they basically exactly the same as another version on different hardware? Yie Ar Kung-Fu and Antarctic Adventure seem like they may both be the Famicom versions ported to Game Boy, but I have no idea which hardware version Guttang Gottong and Frogger could be based on. Can anybody confirm all this or provide extra info on these four mystery games?
