I recently came across one of these Playstation SCPH-1001 Consoles and it is made in the USA, rather than Japan. It took me around 7 years to actually find one of these after seeing one online. I know the Japanese ones are worthless, but how about this one that is Made in the USA ? Virtually the same inside and out (I'm guessing), fully working, but would this variant be considered collectible ? If not, to the trash it goes.

Fully working SCPH-1001 units can run about $40 regardless of where they were made, apparently they make great CD players, light guns also don't need an adapter as they do on later units. I once had an SCPH-7001 made in Mexico, 7001s are somewhat uncommon, PlayStations made in Mexico are rather rare, I still broke it up for parts, no more valuable than any other 7001.

They don't sell for $40 anymore, at least not very often. They sell for $30 with free shipping at most if you're lucky.

I'm trying to sell one locally for $30, these use to sell at this price more quickly. The one I have now is actually the best one of these I've ever found, the drive is actually quiet so it hasn't been used much.
