I just sold one on ebay for $160 and it had 60ish watchers on it. Just last year I sold the same thing and it barely broke $50. Any reason why it would be in high demand lately or did I just get lucky?

Do HDTVs have VGA ports? If so that may help explain why.

Most of them do have VGA ports, yes. I thought these had been $125+ for more than a year, though...

heres the thread i made trying to sell it last year before i put it on ebay

theres even a "hilarious" guy commenting on the prices. anyway just seemed strange to me that the price would go up unless the hdtv penetration has really blown up since last year.

Seems to be happening to many of the high end av cables, mostly ones that are high end official cables in which there aren't any off the shelf third party stuff or in which the third party cables are also rare. I could only find 1 Sega Saturn s-video cable, and even that cheap one came with a $75 asking price.

Just keep in mind that things are different now, 7 years ago even small Gamestop stores had boxes of official PS1 Memory Cards, now even the largest videogame store in the Los Angeles area rarely has more than a handful.

I know that for a fact as I'm looking for a dozen or so.

I lucked out on my Saturn S-Video cable, it was included in a bundle I bought years ago. So glad I don't have to buy one now...

But they're still not worth much, maybe $5 each if someone is looking for one. I still see them in game stores. What's getting hard to find are Gamecube memory cards. The store by my house was sold out of these, they kept getting asked about them. Even Gamecube systems are becoming more desirable, this store was sold out of systems and wants to get more of them. They still have N64s, but no Gamecubes.

Maybe I should sell my Dreamcast VGA box soon, it's not first party but I don't really need it.

Wasn't the Dreamcast VGA box a limited release exclusive to Japan?

Saturn s-video... That I have, third party. Not much use without compatible TV. My standard CRT bizarrely accepts component yet lacks s-video. Never heard of that on non-HD sets.

There are 3rd party VGA Box/cables for Dreamcast. I think Racketboy sells one for 40-something bucks. As for the price, I think it's more to do with that there's MUCH less being sold on ebay nowadays gaming wise.
