Playing games without casings

Hey guys, I have a SNES game that I'd like to play but it is only the circuit board, no plastic shell. Would it be dangerous to out the game in the system and play as is?

As long as you are careful, it is fine. I would, however put it in a case if you are going to play it often. Make sure you put the game in correctly, front to the front. This sounds silly, but it is easy to forget which is the front. Also, be careful pulling the board out of the system. I would hate to see the board cracked or broken.

Strangely with the SNES, the proper side is with the chips facing the back of the console.
(pretty sure on that, but not 100%)

Just make sure to push the flap down with your finger when removing it, otherwise the components can snag on it.
The only issue I've ever had with bare circuit board was with N64 games. They were very finicky about booting.

Go buy a crappy sports title and swap the boards.

Thanks guys! I do intend to get a case for it eventually, but it's good to know it's usable now as long as I'm careful

If you really want to make sure it doesn't snag on the slot doors, you could plug it into a game genie or something.
