Similar to the 3DS trade deal they had last year about this time when the 3DS price dropped

"$40 when you trade your old DS Lite, $50 when you trade your old Dsi, $60 when you trade your old DSi XL, or $100 when you trade your 3DS toward the purchase of a new 3DS or 3DS XL"

I was on the fence about an XL until I found out about this deal. FYI the stores around here will let you buy the XL at full pop, go home, do the system transfer and come back with both and return the XL then resell it to you with the discount applied.

We talked about that here:

At my local GameStop, I was able to transfer my data from 3DS to 3DS XL right in the store.

You might be better off purchasing it at Kmart for the $40 gaming coupon. Then selling your old 3DS should get you maybe $100-$120. The only problem would be requiring you to go back to Kmart at a later time to purchase something from their within the period of two months. This is only a good deal if Kmart has some games you're already interested in at an affordable price and if a Kmart is close to you.

"$40 when you trade your old DS Lite, $50 when you trade your old Dsi, $60 when you trade your old DSi XLSurely these are worth more than that on the open market?

Surely these are worth more than that on the open market?

Of course they are. You know Gamestop (and pretty much every other business in the world) wants to buy low and sell high. Name of the game, Jack...

Honestly you might as well sell the 3DS used on Craigslist for something and get a little more than $100 bucks for it. At worst you can get like $125.
