Sega Saturn...

Can someone help me, my saturn seems to have given up the ghost, one day its playing fine, the enxt it wont recognise any of the game disks, loads straight into the cd player screen.

Im pretty much at my wits end, should i just buy another, is my saturn dead?

If it can't be fixed easily, you're better off buying another since they're so cheap. Don't toss that one, though, if you can't fix it pass it on to someone who can...

There is a bug in certain games (simcity 2000) where, if loaded with a full save bank on the Saturn, the game will create a save into the boot memory casuing all games to fail.

To fix. take out the battery backup for saves. wait 10 minutes.. you should be asked for date/time info.

I think the battery is dead anyway, it hasnt been changed since its purchase, way back in the land before time, 1995.

It still wont boot up any games mind you...

if it asks you for the date/time then it is dead.

Only thing you can do is open it up and clean it out and re-seat all the cables without monitoring equipment.
