Is it still possible to upload codes using the Parallel Port with a new computer? I don't think new computers have those ports anymore. Are there Parallel to USB cords?

Sadly no unless someone has hacked one to do otherwise. Those Parallel to USB adapters are designed specifically for printers only and don't know what to do with other parallel devices. Also the software is designed to use the parallel port so it would have no idea what to do with a USB port. And in the modern era, port numbers change, IRQ's change, pretty much if you have a modern copy of Windows such as Windows 7, the drivers are legacy and that can cause problems with the ports and since the software was written for an older copy of Windows, compatibility becomes an issue as well.

The best option is to find an older computer with a parallel port and an older operating system like Windows 98, Windows 2000 and maybe Windows XP.

VMWare / Virtual PC running Windows 98 + USB Parallel Port Adaptor = you're done.

Windows 7 doesn't support my older USB floppy drive. But it works on VMWare running Windows XP. Go figure. This should apply to your case as well. As long as the emulated OS can detect the port just as it would a real one and it has working drivers, it should be fine.

I thought you had to use an ISA or PCI PC-comms link card to interface with the device anyway?

Then again I'm speaking from dealing with this since prior to Caetla being released, so there's a good possibility someone has devised a new cable or software solution.

For the N64, the final revision. 3.3 I believe, is the best one. That is, a working one; I have two N64 Gamesharks, and neither one actually works. Those stupid things must fail very easily.
