Are you tired of people still thinking your hobby is for children and psychopaths?

To help combat this, we've been promoting Play Video Games in Public Day. The date is approaching soon - 10/01, but there's hardly any preparation required. All you have to do is play a video game where people will see you and ... well, that's all. More discussion (about a pretty straightforward concept) can be found here (http://www.pixlbit.com/feature/1656/play_video_games_in_public_day).

Let us know if you're going to be participating and how it goes.

I usually play my DS/3DS in public anyway, so... won't be different from any other day.

But maybe I'll dig out my old brick gameboy and bust out some Wario Land or DK '94, just to see if that raises any eyebrows.

bring a virtual boy into public to play, its almost inevitable at least 1 person will make an a-hole comment.

Meh, people already know I play video games. Games are pretty mainstream now anyway. The whole kiddie and basement dweller thing is going away pretty naturally on its own.

We're definitely getting there, but this will only speed up the process. Most people are realizing it's not a weird thing for an adult to do, but plenty of people still mock and criticize our hobby. If this isn't necessary at all, you won't lose anything by participating.

I play in public anyway and could not give two shits what others think. If I did I would not wear gaming shirts daily and my DMC & Mega Man wristbands

I still get the odd look when I walk into a coffee shop with my PSP.

Have you double checked that you are wearing pants?
