MUSHA/Aleste differences?

I was playing the Japanese version of MUSHA (for Mega Drive) over the weekend and was trying to figure out if there are any major differences in comparison to its US counterpart. I've read the main differences are the title screen, Japanese text in the cut scenes, and the boss designs are slightly different. Beyond that, the game is largely the same.

Are there any other major differences I didn't already state? Thanks.
