I was shocked to find something like this at Savers.
Fairchild Channel F CIB (nice condition too), about 20 boxed games and a bag of extra controllers.

The price tag was an unexpected $299. Wanted to know what you all think.
I'm a reseller so not too sure the price would make it worth it. The manager there said they did research online to figure out the price, and "Saw" just the console sell for $200.
Not too sure about that. Sweet find though.

don't know what their "research was but this ebay auction shows the same boxed system sold for $91 plus shipping

also I had a hell of a time unloading my first model system and still have a pile of channel f games sitting in my sale box.

The console is definitely not worth $200. I bought mine for $40 boxed. It would be a nice haul for a collector, but for a reseller, it's not going to be worth it. Finding boxed games for any system is difficult in this day and age, but finding all the games that come with a console boxed is a real rarity. And those white boxes are late releases. Still not worth $299, but for a collector who only wants boxed games and knows he won't be able to grab the majority of the system's library any other time, they could go for it.

A dream find, with a nightmare price! Maybe they were going by this auction http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fairchild-Channel-F-Fairchild-Channel-F-System-II-game-system-complete-working-/261080354952?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cc99a1088
I could see then how they would figure what they had was worth more.
As far as buying it...can't believe someone shelled out that much for it. Maybe talked them down on it. I'm not up on classic gaming prices anymore, but If I would have run into that myself, I would have been willing to pay $150 at most. I mean how often you run into something like that?

Usually if I see something like that I start to rage, but Arc truly is a non-profit organization, unlike Savers or Unique. What makes me ultra-rage is when there is a price tag one something like that and I know they got it for free, 'cause it was donated.

When a Savers first came around my area, their prices on games were average at best. Now it seems like they found out that people are buying these games up left and right so they raised the prices a bit (especially on systems). Last time I was in there, they had Donkey Kong Classics for the NES loose. I asked how much it was and I thought they said $9.99, and I said I'd take it. Not really the price I'd want to pay but I don't normally see that game. Well when I had the actual game in my hand it said $39.99 on it. I told him I was all set with it and he put it back. Next time I went in there....it was sold. So it seems like people will pay any price at Savers for some reason.

I can honestly see then looking at what people were "selling" it for on ebay, not what it "sold" for.
I asked the manager if I could make an offer and she said no. I too would have jumped on it within the range of $150

Well, one of the carts was Casino Poker, and boxed. How much is that worth these days?
