So I got into a conversation with a co-worker. A conversation that turned to classic video games, when all of sudden he pipes up about a Sega Master System Demo unit that he rescued from a Toys-R-Us dumpster a million years ago, and now resides at the bottom of his closet. To say I was interested in it would be an understatement.

He claims that it worked the last time he used it (ages ago), and I got the implication that its still stocked with most or even all the games it was loaded with.

So I'm curious, what might something like this be worth in working condition? I really want to make an offer on it (after I get a look at it, and check it out of course) but I'm not sure where to start negotiations. What other things should I watch out for in terms of things that are a part of the whole package? Cables (Power and AV), cartridge and card games, etc... did it have its own unique monitor? Controllers? Stand?

It's probably this one. http://www.smspower.org/misc/sms_store_display_unit/sms_store_display_units-01.jpg The store had to provide it's own television or monitor. I've seen them go for several hundred dollars on Craigslist (quite a bit more on Ebay) loaded with the demo label games and fully working.
