Had posted this in Septembers forgetting that it was actually October.

Decided to go to good will today and picked up a few things.

Myst III Exile PC Big Box Sealed 3.99
Total War! for Mac 2.99
GBA with some DBZ game for 1.99

Also 43 DS orphans from my local Gamestop. I'll be posting a list of them with more from other places soon.

From a little indie store next to my (former) workplace...

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2012-10-02%2801%29.jpg

A lot of stuff there is discounted right now but I haven't been able to get a straight answer if they're going out of business or not. I know online repair is their primary operation and their store has been broken in to a LOT over the past year but I think they're seeing a surge in business with the sale going on. Anyway...

GBA - Super Dodge Ball Advance
Dreamcast - Sega Marine Fishing
PS1 - One
NES - Rad Racer
NES - Commando
NES - Knight Rider
NES - Sesame Street Big Bird's Hide & Speak

Ended up being less than $15 for everything. Rad Racer is complete sans 3D glasses but I still have my pair from when the game was originally released so I'm calling it complete. Always surprises me how underrated that game is these days when it was such a big deal during my early NES days. Sorry kids, I'll go to my grave saying the four pieces of music in Rad Racer / Highway Star are Nobuo Uematsu's greatest work. Sega Marnie Fishing is a gift.

Visited a Book Off when I was visiting my girlfriend's parents and picked up (no picture)...

SNES - Total Carnage
PS1 - Memory Card (red) x2

Total Carnage is to be a gift as well but the memory cards were for me. Think it was $15 out the door there. I would have liked to browse more but they were moving inventory around and a group of the most annoying otakus I've ever encountered seemed to be patrolling the store, getting in the way constantly but purchasing nothing.

Last is an eBay find that I had been waiting to find for what seems like forever...

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2012-10-02%2802%29.jpg

Atari 2600 / VCS Space Shuttle A Journey Into Space, complete as I ever need it to be. Missing the four-switch overlay but I don't need it anyway. This was less than $16 shipped. Really the only complete 2600 game I think I'll ever want.

Speaking of which, the Endeavour flyover at Moffett Field last month was pretty amazing.

I went down to my local shop today, to pick up something that they have been holding for me.

Mega Man Legends 2 for $60.00 (Used, Complete) - It was originally $80, but I traded a few things in, and still had some other credit left too.

They Might Be Giants / Apollo 18

Came out to $7 total. Apollo 18 is a replacement copy, the one I bought ages ago was kinda beat up.

I've been collecting/hunting for 12 years or so. One my rules is not hitting thrifts on consecutive days. It's too time consuming, obsessive, and when I have done it in the past it usually dosen't pay off. Today I just didn't feel like going home after work and I hit a thrift I was at yesterday. Now, I'm rethinking my strategy!

$2.02 each! Really happy to make a good find...so far and few between nowadays. Not so happy that I'm going to be tempted to hunt everyday. I have to go out of my way to hit any stops. Wish gas wasn't so expensive!

Most of my thrift store finds are like that, same day they pull them out, then again one of my PS2 debugs sat at one of the bigger Goodwills for over a week.

was with a friend visiting a game store a town over but got there before they opened so we stopped by the salvation army and I got a Nintendo sliding drawer game case with 22 games (nothing to amazing but all in good shape), two controllers and a zapper for $20. Can't complain about nes games for under a buck a pop.

Great find. :) I'd love to find a whole bunch of awesome Sega CD games like that.

If I visit the same thrift too frequently, I usually end up in some kind of awkward situation where I keep running into the same staff or customers, like the one time a creepy employee started following me around trying to make smalltalk and hit on me, haha.

See I visit the thrift near me enough that the folks know me and don't mind me going into the case with the games unattended. Plus, sometimes they invite me into the back to check out stuff that hasn't been set out. That's how I got my $4 copy of Chrono Trigger :)

So I went out for a while today and picked up a few things.

First stop I got
2 Garmin GPS units $2 each
1 Insignia GPS unit $2
1 Mio GPS unit $2
2 PSP 2001 systems neither have battery cover or battery and are pretty scratched up. $2 each
1 DS light with a loose hinge $2
Copy of Sonic Adventure 2 for Dreamcast $2

None of them came with cables and were untested and no garuntee to work. I've tested the GPS units and they all work. Haven't tested the game systems yet. They all have light scratches from using and poor storage nothing too major though.

Second stop

Xbox Conker Live and Reloaded Demo $1
Gameboy Exodus Journey to The Promised Land $1
Bag of six random GBA games for $2.99 (I haven't even really looked at them yet.)

Yeah, I definitely understand the benefits of developing a relationship with the staff, but thrifts tend to be a bit seedier than normal retail stores and being a fairly young woman just seems to invite the weirdos, especially if they see you regularly. That's one reason why I don't tend to go to any particular store more than once a week or once every couple weeks.

a couple months ago i was forced to have to sell my entire snes collection including 130 games...all of the major high value titles such as chrono trigger, ff3, earthbound, secret of mana, etc..

well...i recently over the last several weeks have been able to obtain some snes titles via estarland.com, tradengames.com, and a couple of local pawn shops.

some of the highlights include:
super mario allstars
the DKC trilogy
all of the fighters i sold....mk set, street fiighter set, (except for sfa2)...
some sports titles that i loved including nba jam
2/3 of the star wars trilogy
mega man x
LOZLTTP

Anyway, i'm back up to around 42 carts i think....getting there....i dont plan on owning all of them...just
the ones i know i'll play....

Sin City limited edition dvd $4
Uncharted 2(PS3) Chinese import $25
Heavy Rain(PS3) Japanese import $35
Hollywood Hotties dvd $1.91
Texas Instruments sealed caculator $4
Two Tupac cds 50 cents each
PS2 Network Adapter and Three PS2 Memory Cards $2
Gameshark(PS2) $1
Kingdom Hearts(PS2) $3

It's been a very slow week for finds. The dvds and calculator were from Goodwill and a thrift store. The cds, memory cards, network adapter and KH game were from yard sales and flea markets. Does anyone else remember when network adapters were worth good money both used and sealed? Now they are almost worthless unless you sell them in a big ass lot. Uncharted was suppose to be the Japanese version but turned out to be the Chinese version. I haven't decided if I'm going to return it or not. Overall it's been tough finding good stuff lately. I think I'm now in a typical slow period.

Took another run to Slater Mill this week. Probably should have went to Mansfield since it turned out to be a nice day, but I was feeling tired and it was closer. Probably should stagger going to the Mill since I've only been buying from heavily entrenched resellers there. Though I am doing okay, I'm really just finding games for cost, as apposed to finding 'deals'. Where last week was a SNES bonanza, this week ended up being a Genesis trove.

http://imageshack.us/a/img513/2021/slatermill2.jpg

Mega Man X4 (PS1) - Love finding me some Mega Man games.
Turrican (GEN) - Super Turrican is on my short list of SNES Games I remember reading about as a kid, but never actually played. Thought the oversized cart was kinda neat.
Vectorman (GEN)
Vectorman 2 (GEN)
Rocket Knight Adventures (GEN) - Unfortunately that price sticker is now permanent. Since its been on the label so long its bonded right into the label paper. Ugg.

All for $25

I haven't been around, I left on Friday morning for Indio, California, to visit an aunt along with my sister and mother. While there, we visited the Maclin's Indio Open Air Flea Market and found some stuff.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2012-10-07.jpg
PS2 Gameshark - $3
PS1 Gameshark - $3
PS1 Game Enhancer 9 - $4
Medievil CIB, mint - $5
Dukes of Hazzard II, mint - $5
Incredible Crisis, mint - $5 :D

I also found a bunch of other games, but the sellers were mostly freakin' unreasonable. And no PC games. :(

Edit: Oh yeah, lots and lots of Mexicans selling bootleg movies and CDs. Just wow dude. Wow. I felt right at home. XD

Game Gear:

made a stop at a random thrift store to kill a few minutes this morning.

Heh. Um.

I picked up sealed copies of:

Adobe Acrobat 7 Standard - $5
Adobe Acrobat 3D 1.0 - $5
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition (25 CAL, beat up box) - $16

That's $100, $200 and $500 on eBay.

I also picked up a used Windows XP Professional with SP2 for five bucks. And a few CDs, but nothing too weird.

Still, holy crap... my sister's been going with me to the flea market these past few weeks and I keep telling her she brings me good luck, but she doesn't believe me...

You can copy files to the PS3 but not back to the memory cards themselves with it.

There's a way. Some folks figured out how to use it to copy the whole softmod bootloader thing to cards... and there's a way to copy PS1 saved games too but it's a pain in the arse to do.

For PS1 saves I would just use a DexDrive. My backwards compatible PS3 could read and write both PS1 and PS2 cards without any issues though. I've never seen PC software for that adapter though, that would be sweet beans.

I haven’t been able to hit any flea markets or garage sales lately, between racing, weather, closed, working, kids sick it’s been impossible..
But I have been keeping up with friends pick ups..
Today I was called on a find but I wasn’t happy with the price so I told him to pass...

A friend visited a Consignment shop that was a total bust..(you gotta try)

Yesterday I had a van drop off of misc. stuff, second to third party finds..These items found throughout a few weeks at flea markets or garage sales ...I had to ask my friend yesterday,if your giving me this stuff for this amount, and you paid this amount(making money) then my goodness your picker must be getting stuff for virtually nothing..

This stuff all has to be sold ..as soon as I can get it listed on eBay..

Here’s my Pickings..

Free Wii System Box
Nintendo 64 Pokémon System With Expansion Pak..
HD DVDS (sealed)
MISC. PS2,Xbox Sports games (for eBay lot sale)
Empty FOSSIL Watch Tins(I actually used to get a watch a year from my Mom for Christmas so I have some tins of my own to add to this sale..
Misc.wires.
DVDS

MAHJONG Set ..it’s so heavy,I may sell it in pieces..
Bag of Game manuals
LCD Games in white boxes..
Dead Battery Pokémon games (repair and sell
Xbox 360,Will games for testing then selling at a flea market...(several are keepers)

The drop off boxes..

Yesterday I ran into a store with a big clearance sale:
I picked up three big sterilite bins with lids, for 50 cent each.
And this stuff for 25 cent each

Heh.

Good Score on the sealed stuff..

I got a call this morning from a guy/picker found..a guy selling a bunch of Microsoft Windows Software/office Cheap but 'not sealed..
I ddn't go for it because everytime I put something up on ebay that's MAC or Microsoft Windows Not New Sealed.=Ebay takes it down on me..I can't list any of it any of t...I have a whole folder of this stuff that I don't know what to do with now..Is there a way to sell this stuff not sealed...?

... The crap?

They only take down OEM and bundle stuff - things that have to be sold with computer hardware. They used to do this to me all the time but they've backed off lately.

eBay does complain if you mention the condition of the item in the title. "Not new sealed"? that's... a big flag, I think.

Ya know how I feel is..Someone Reported Mine=that lil prick with lots of time on their hands .another seller

..other sellers had the same thing I had listed also Used..not sealed and>mine gets taken down...every Mac or Microsoft Used software I had up used was taken down..
though I had some some sales on others I had listed and made some nice profit ..having all that taken down really bit..I won't buy it not sealed nor list it again, even sealed today I am fearfull...
Ebay just does things that boggle me sometimes..here I see loads of MVS bootleg games up,they stay listed,sold..

I read up on policy and it seems they can take all kinds of things down...Someethings they can take down make no sence cause there are millions of them listed..they would kill thier own market..

I'd say before listing make sure you can, they seems to be getting more picky with things..

I list my Gamecube Freeloader,Bam they remove it..Yet I did a search for it and found a dozen listed at the time..I get emails for new listings of this disc.
What pisses me off about Ebay is,you should it a pop up warning if your not supposed to list something,..they let you search, find it listed then days later take it down...

This is what they sent me on the last software removed.

You were probably flagged for doing this too many times... can you send me pictures of the stuff you're talking about? I can probably tell you what you can and can't sell.

Hit up a thrift store for the first time in forever tonight and found several bags of edutainment CDs priced at $2-$3 a stack. I bought four bags and ended up with the following titles...

Adventure Workshop 1st-3rd Grade (Contains 4 games)
Backyard Baseball 2001
Backyard Basketball
Backyard Football 2002
Backyard Soccer
Clifford The Big Red Dog Thinking Adventures (Already owned this :|)
Clifford The Big Red Dog Learning Activities (This one has some nasty scratches, doubt it works :|)
Disney Activity Center Tarzan
Disney Learning: Toddler (Includes Disney Toddler and Winnie the Pooh Toddler)
Disney Lilo & Stitch: Trouble in Paradise!
Disney Toddler
Disney Winnie the Pooh Kindergarten
Franklin the Turtle Clubhouse Adventures (Doesn't run on Win 7 64-bit :|)
Freddi Fish 4: The Hogfish Rustlers of Briny Gulch
Jump-Start Kindergarten
Jump-Start Phonics
Jump-Start Preschool 2: Trucks N' Things
Lego Island
Lego Racers
Lego Rock Raiders
Legoland
Phonics 4 Kids
Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo
Reader Rabbit 1st Grade: Capers on Cloud Nine!
Sesame Street: Elmo's Preschool
Spot and his Friends

Several other discs were found in the cases of other games including...

Jump-Start Artist
Jump-Start Music
Jump-Start Toddlers
Playhouse Disney: Stanley Tiger Tales
Reader Rabbit Kindergarten
Reader Rabbit Preschool x2

The one I was hoping for, Jump-Start Preschool was missing a disc. :( Still $11 and some change for all these titles isn't bad at all. :)

Pretty good luck at the thrift yesterday where all the stuff on the right was from:

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Snapbucket/3E79C1CD-orig.jpg

Zelda was 8.99 but it was 25% off day. The other games were... less. Don't remember each of them offhand. I think the Logitech PS2 controller was 4, same with the Saitek joystick. Total from the thrift was 42 including a $6 eliptical trainer. Then stopped at a garage sale and got some Micro Machines for a quarter, Works 2006 suite for .75, and 4 bags of old little people .25 each.

I got the email as well. You get the code for completing a survey. Checked the slickdeals thing theclaw mentioned, and the code there is the same one I got. So the code is universal, I just don't know if you have to have gotten the survey email to be able to use it or not.

I took a chance and used it last night, and boom, I now own Mass Effect + the only DLC pack they still sell. 19.99 total. I ended up being able to access the US version of the Origin site for some reason, too. Guess that's why it worked for me.

I already own it on Steam but since EA dicked us on DLC over there... Too bad we can't get Bring Down The Sky anymore.

Oh, weird. No. Not experienced for that.

With my other stuff...
Tomba is new to me. Other than being aware it was uncommon. Turns out a HEAVILY condition sensitive title. Ranging between $20-80 at the most crazy.
Metroid will be worth playing again. Pins cleaned right up, ran immediately.
Naruto games are duplicates.
Baten Kaitos I'll poke around in. Half of a game I can't read, and I've got its complete US one.
Star Fox I've played US before. Fun to spot version differences I guess.
UFC 50 is a duplicate so I can sell its lesser condition single volume.
Dawn of Mana I should play. Just tried the first few minutes some time ago.

Another wet rainy morning lead me again to Slatter Mill in-doors flea market. I've discovered that these trips are not really about finding bargains, but finding stuff I want at pretty good pricing. Or at least fair pricing.

http://imageshack.us/a/img703/9756/slatermill3.jpg

Meridian Vol. 1 & 2 (Crossgen) $10 - I LOVE(D) Crossgen comics when they were a thing in the early 2000s. One of the best comic publishers of their time. The way they crashed and burned at the end was rather tragic. And the fact that all their properties are now in the hands of Marvel/Disney is even more tragic. I've been wanting to get my hands on a complete collection of Crossgen TPs just to have everything archived for posterity. But they are getting rarer and more expensive as time goes on. This was a good start though. Meridian is a great series.

ReBoot (PS1) $3 - As a long time ReBoot fan this game was a must buy. I was willing to pay $5 for it, but the nice lady only charged me $3.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1) $10 - So I'm told this game is pretty good, yeah? Price tag said $20 but again the nice lady cut me another deal as I was trying to walk away.
U.N. Squadron (SNES) $15 - I sort of hesitated over this one for a little while, not 100% sure if $15 was too much. Or if the game was particularly uncommon. But I knew it was some-what well liked by shooter fans, I'm a fan of its source mateiral (Area 88!!), and I don't see it everywhere. So I took a stab at it, just to add it to my personal collection. It'll get some play, I'm sure.

Another small-expensive week. With the summer officially over I've a feeling this is going to be an ongoing trend until next spring and the open-air flea markets are worth going to again. Wish I hadn't gotten into this so late in the season. Its going to be a frustrating winter.

I managed to get it for $12 from a lady at a yard sale close to my local flea market :) She's moving to another state soon so she wanted to get rid of much stuff as possible so I may stop by again next weekend to see if I could find more game or electronic relating stuff.

Yeah! This has been the best week in a while. $2 each for the PS2 memory cards, the Dreamcast lot was $25, BTW the DC is a Kiosk unit, that'll go great with my pre-release rental unit and my NTSC-U V0.
