1) Rush N' Attack- I remember this game from childhood. I didn't own it, but my best friend did. Not sure how well it plays now that I'm not 9 years old anymore

2) Bomberman- know nothing about this game, just heard the name here and there

3) Chip N Dale's Rescue Rangers- again know nothing about this game, just see it in alot of top 10 lists. Does it live up to the hype?

Thanks for the input

I recommend getting a Bomberman game on a different platform for your introduction to the series. The NES games aren't that exciting. Rescue Rangers is a great NES game, but expect to beat it quickly on your first try. It's very, very easy but still a lot of fun.

Rescue Rangers is one of the greatest Co-Op games of all time. If you have a friend. Mostly because you can seriously fuck with your partner. It was New Super Marios Bros Wii 20 years early.

I recommend getting a Bomberman game on a different platform for your introduction to the series.

Bomber Man II is far superior to the first Bomber Man, BUT I recommend the PC-Engine's Bomberman 94 on the Virtual Console over those two, and Saturn Bomberman is the best of all of the Bomberman series that I've ever played. Of course, Bomberman shines most brilliantly as a multiplayer game.

Given your choices, go with Chip and Dale.

Chip and Dale is probably the best of those choices. It's not my favourite Disney Capcom NES game but it's still not bad.

Of the three unless you have people to steadily do some multiplayer with and prefer gaming like that I'd go with Rescue Rangers, and if you are like that Bomberman. Bomberman is a snore by itself though the sequel is fantastic either way. RR though is a really well crafted and fun platforming action game. It has some really solid audio visuals for the NES and backed with a really good set of stage designs and game play/control mechanics.

I never played it either but I've always heard good things about Rescue Rangers.

A little on the easy side, but Rescue Rangers = classic.

Definitely get Rescue Rangers first.

This is a pretty big decision. But there's no case too big, no case too small, if you need help then get CHI CHI CHI CHIP AND DALE RESCUE RANGERS!

I'm saying Rescue Rangers. It's definitely one of the best platformers on the system. Bomberman I find get's boring after 10 minutes. Rush 'n Attack is also very good, I'd put that as a close second.

Rush'n Attack and Bomberman are both good games, but Rescue Rangers is a great game. If you can only buy one, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers is definitely the one to go with.

I'm going to have to look into this Rescue Rangers game too. Somehow I've never played it.

Thanks for all the input! Seems like Rescue Rangers it is.

Get Chip N Dale's Rescue Rangers. The original Bomberman is a single player game that doesn't match up to the sequels that came later. As for Rush n Attack, haven't played that in a while, so can't say. Rescue Rangers is great, licensed games rarely are.

I remember beating Rescue Rangers. And I was no more than 6 years old (I think I had the chicken pox and was playing it with SMB 3 and... some game involving a mouse.) So it's so easy a 6 year old can beat it! ;) I wouldn't get it for the challenge, but the nostalgia factor may be worthwhile. The video linked above is pretty descriptive. I have no experience with the other games.

why not just get all three? They don't go for much.

I might go ahead and get Rush N' Attack. What about Duck Tails? The reviewer in the link above said it was similar to Rescue Rangers, but he actually liked it better. Thoughs?

after all that about Rescue Rangers, you're getting Rush'n Attack? Why did you ask?

For what it's worth, I have Rush'n Attack on the DS Konami collection, & maybe it's just me but I could never get anywhere in it. Again, I've never played Resue Rangers, but I bet there's a lot more game there than in Rush'n Attack.

Duck Tales is one of the best action platformers ever. At least as good as the best Mega Mans or Marios. I'd rank it way higher then Rescue Rangers it terms of long term enjoyment.

Duck Tales is better than Rescue Rangers, both are good games though. I bought Rush N' Attack back when I was trying to get every arcade port available on the NES, it gets old pretty quick.

DuckTales is not just superior to Rescue Rangers; it is one of the best platformers for any system, let alone the NES. The music in the moon stage is absolutely transportive and alone justifies purchasing the game. I think I can safely say that anyone who has played this game has a special place in their heart for it- "it" being both the music and the game. :)

While not a bad game, Rush n' Attack won't captivate you for very long just like everyone above me has stated. Cutting to the quick, the game lacks depth and packs a mediocre punch of early NES title fun at best.

Ducktales is one of the best games for the NES, and I agree with Treismac, the Moon theme is one of the greatest themes of all time. I actually have it set as my ringtone. You should also check out Brentalfloss's version of it, where he adds lyrics.

I was responding to the post that said why don't you get all three, I was saying I'm going to get Rush N' Attack as well as RR.
