Just wandering what everyone thinks of Sony's Playstation Mobile effort to get mobile games across many different devices like the Vita, smartphones, and tablets? I personally think this whole program is going to depend on what Sony and others charges for these games. They're gonna have to keep prices anywhere from free to $5 for the most part. I suppose they'll get away with charging $10+ for more premium games?

I've got a Vita so I'll be keeping an eye on the selections. Super Crate Box is awesome and a part of the launch lineup.

Harsh critics of mobile/smart phone games with "no buttons" should take note that there is the potential for a lot of good stuff to come down the pike with physical controller compatibility.

The games on Playstation Mobile aren't priced by Sony. They're priced by the devs that put them on there. So Sony has no say in whether it's free to $10 or not(although some are from Sony.) The devs pay for the $99 kit, the cost to license the game, and then its whether they think it'll sell enough to make their money back and more.

The two games on there that interest me though are Aqua Kitty and Super Crate Box, but not enough for me to purchase them at $3.49 each. Super Crate Box is free to play on Steam though for those interested.

The whole thing just seems redundant to me.

The whole thing just seems redundant to me.

I thought so as well, but with these games being on the Playstation Mobile, they're exclusive to the Vita or any Playstation Mobile certified devices. So unlike mini's, these can't be played on PS3, PSP, and Vita and can also utilize touch features.

This just adds a little bit more fluff to the system than just being able to play PSN titles that hit the PS3. I think that's what Sony was going for when they released this feature.
