I just got a Model 2 Sega Genesis at a Garage sale for 2 bucks. Only problem is, they didn't have any cables for it at all. No power adapter, and no video cables. I have a few questions about stuff for this unit:

1. What Power Adapter do I need to get for this Model 2 Genesis?

2. Will a Model 1 Genesis power adapter damage this unit?

3. Do any other video game systems power adapters work with a Model 2 Genesis?

4. Did the Model 2 Genesis have a video cable for it that also included the red and white plug for stereo sound?

5. Or is it impossible to get stereo sound from the Model 2 Genesis?

Thanks for any answers anybody gives to this.

1. What Power Adapter do I need to get for this Model 2 Genesis?

MK-2103

- @ +

Input: 120V AV 60Hz 15W
Output: 10V DC 0.85A

2. Will a Model 1 Genesis power adapter damage this unit?

Won't work, it shouldn't even fit in the hole

3. Do any other video game systems power adapters work with a Model 2 Genesis?

Pico, Nomad, Game Gear

4. Did the Model 2 Genesis have a video cable for it that also included the red and white plug for stereo sound?

5. Or is it impossible to get stereo sound from the Model 2 Genesis?

Erm, someone else take a stab at this one. You can use the Genesis 3 AV cables, but you'd still get just the mono sound.

not that it'll help, but you can use the 32X's hookups as well.

I have proper genesis 2 A/V stereo cables. They are not common, but do exist. (I have them for $9USD plus actual ship). It's the genesis 1 that cannot output stereo signal from it's back DIN plug.
