I picked up a couple of games at a thrift, and they both say the above on the cover. I've never seen a genny game advertise that it also works on the Mega Drive. Is this normal.

Also, the guide has each game made by Accolade, but these have the company as "Ballistic"

the games in question are Mike Ditka Power Football and Winter Challenge. The boxes are weird too: they open from the front and it's a two piece box.

Sorry if this seems dumb but I've never seen stuff like this.

The thrift in question has tons of SNES and Genny sports games complete, including genny ones in the flimsy boxes. They're in good condition so if anyone needs any let me know.

Man, you don't remeber those HUGE folding ads for Ballistic in old issues of EGM and Gamepro? Those were annoying. Anyway, that's how the games were packaged. I have like 3 extra boxes for Mike Ditka Football, though I have no idea why. I believe the Ballistic thing was the same as the Konami/Ultra games thing back in the NES days....the again, I could be wrong. As for the Mega Drive thing, I don't know that one.

Accolade released unlicensed games for the Genesis under the Ballistic label.

They made them without region-coding and released the exact same version in Europe and the US. Thus Mega Drive and Genesis.
