so these 3 systems have a huge power supply. Takes up a lot of room. I was wondering if it is possible to get a smaller power supply that looks like the ones from ps1. is it even possible?

I think the only real solution is to get short extension cords to run from the power adapter box so they don't take up all the space on the power strip. The PS1 power cord looks like it does because its power adapter happens to be housed internally.

I have a colecovision and that power supply could take up half a power strip.
I also use extension cords when playing my SNES & NES.

Plug a second power strip into the first one. Every outlet does not have to be used.

An NES ac adapter is 9V 1.3a, don't remember the others offhand, but they are similar. This one would work: http://www.amazon.com/NEEWER%C2%AE-AC-adapter-FOR-DVD/dp/B005HN29B8/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1351003791&sr=8-7&keywords=ac+power+adapter+9v
and I think you'd be okay with 1 amp on an NES (they are pretty robust): http://www.amazon.com/9V-DC-Power-Adapter-Supply/dp/B004LX146Q/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1351003791&sr=8-6&keywords=ac+power+adapter+9v
I can't vouch for the quality on these. I wouldn't hook a cheapy like this up to a CDX, but a regular NES isn't that big of deal.

Even better.

You can get them at places like Wal Mart, Target, BB, etc.

This is the way to go. I found a package of 4 mini extension cords. The cords where about a foot long. The are made just for this type of thing.
I picked these up at Target about a year ago. They came in a package with different colors, not sure why.
Like I said, this is your best bet.
Edit: Looks like the poster above me has found the same thing. Those are the ones I got and they work great. You dont have to worry about using a cheap power supply and damaging you systems.
