Who's got GamePro #180 (Sep 03)? Turn to page 41, top of the page, and look at their blurb about Atari burying a bunch of ET cartridges. What does the photo next to it look like?

I can't remember where, but I've seen that photo before.

Most likely taken from Rotten.com.

There is nothing rotten about that image... more like to have been found on boners. Speaking of which, I haven't checked rotten in a while.

Rotten showcased some pretty tame fare before they decided to make a Boners section.

Eh, boners is usually more humerous than gruesome.

I remember reading this when it came out. The top 10 (or whatever) video game mythes. Someting like that. Anyway that photo was certainly not in the issue I was reading.

Yikes. It might be time to trim that hedge.
That's the most hilarious trick played at GamePro's expense since the GAMEPRO SUCKS secret message in an old Atari Lynx ad some years back.

Daniel Thomas (MacInnes) would probably be better qualified to tell you about this, but nevertheless, here goes...
A long time ago, EGM was hired to create an ad supplement for Atari to advertise their portable game system, the Lynx. One of the writers of the supplement, a disgruntled former contributor to GamePro, snuck a message into one of the reviews. He used the first letter of every sentence to spell out "GAMEPRO SUCKS". Rumor has it that he was fired from EGM for the stunt, but it was years before anyone else realized it.

I'm glad it's not just me -- bad eyes + dirty mind...

I find it a little surprise that GAMEPRO, the kiddiest mag outside of Nintendo Power, would print that.

Now I'm wondering how it got there... I don't think I've seen that image before myself.

I did write a note to the letters address, but I don't expect a reply back, or in the magazine. Maybe if I'd said how offended I was...

I just e-mailed that scan to a few people with the subject "I wondered what they did with all those lame games" just to see if anyone would notice the picture. so far no one has.

It seems as though someone pulled a fast one on Lame Pro. But upon my further inspection, it looks more like dessert than a desert! ;)

If you put "bulldozer" into Google's image search, that's on the first page of results. Odds are that's how they got it. I'm told mags often raid the net for incidental images like that, especially when close to deadline.

Ha ha! So they plagiarized a web site and ended up showing porn? Sweet Christ that's funny...
