Any games on the MSX 2 (or MSX) worth checking out? It was the sequel to Yie Ar Kung Fu that attracted me to it in the first place, now I wanna see what else the system has to offer.

It's the only game that makes me even consider getting an MSX2 or 2+. There's also a fan made sequel Space Manbow 2.

Yes, Yie Ar Kung Fu 2 was great!
my favorite games have been Knightmare and Knight Lore, both MSX1 games though, with the latter even being a port from the ZX Spectrum.
While we're at ports: Jet Set Willy and H.E.R.O. were also awesome (and they also do not push the system limits in the slightest). Not that MSX(2) games were known for state of the art visuals anyway

King`s Valley was also pretty cool if i recall correctly

The actual version of Metal Gear which was butchered in its NES port. Then its actual sequal which Kojima made called Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake, it was never released outside of Japan though so it must be in Japanese.
