Hello.
Approximately a month ago I purchased a Super Famicom that a previous person had imported to my country along with the Super Famicom games Romancing Saga 2 and Mario Paint. The SF turns on and plays these games fine with no problems.
But it wouldn't play a copy of Super Metroid that a friend of mine bought for me while he was in South Korea. I thought that regional lockout wouldn't apply between South Korea and Japan and so i decided to buy a second copy of Super Metroid from Japan this time. But this game didn't work either.. The games look identical on the outside and I cleaned their connections thoroughly. I have tried taking apart the SF and cleaning the cartridge connector with no luck.

So i am quite stumped and all I can think of doing now is either buying some other SF game to see if it's only Super Metroid that is acting weird, or to replace the connector on the SF.

Does any of you have any idea as to what I should do or what might be causing the problem?

Thanks in advance.

- Simon.

Do you have a SNES that you could try the carts in?

Is it receiving correct power input? Its original Japanese adapter doesn't support 220v. And the PAL SNES adapter outputs AC, which may damage a Super Famicom as they expect DC.
