I scored a complete copy of aero fighters assault today and went to check ebay prices and came across this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/AeroFighters-Assault-Nintendo-64-1997-/180982604067?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item2a23676123&nma=true&si=UWJ2cwYO%2B%2FpRaj6VxPbvv%2BO4UL0%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I've been collecting for N64 for over 10 years now and while Aerofighters was never one I tracked I'm surprised I didn't see or read about this somewhere before.

That big yellow sticker looks new to me too (though its been a LONG time since I've seen an Aerofighters Assault box)

PAL region maybe?

EDIT: Hey, guess what? I ran a Google Search on 'Aerofighters Assault PAL' and got THIS back in the image search...

One giveaway that it's a PAL territory release is the Nintendo seal. It's only round in PAL regions ;)

Hmm. The box says "Not compatible with USA and PAL version Nintendo 64 control deck".

Well it's got to be one or the other. It's not like there's a 3rd option. I blame it on Engrish.

Most likely it's Japan/Korea shape. N64 like SNES cannot actually tell apart NTSC carts.

Yeah, I picked up on that when I bought Taz Express in 2002, though from that picture in the auction it's harder to tell.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

@TheClaw - I know. I was mentioning Taz Express as a comparison. So I'll repeat: Thanks for the responses everyone.

Yes, just the like the SNES. Japanese and PAL have one cart shape, while USA has a different shape. (in N64, the only difference is the tab holes in the back. On US carts, they're at the edge, but the holes are indented on JP/PAL carts.)
However, NTSC and PAL have different lockouts.
So a Japanese cart will be electronically compatible but physically incompatible (won't fit in the slot) with an unmodded US system.
In a PAL console, it will fit in the slot, but it won't boot up due to the electronic incompatibility (lockout).

It is NTSC. I found the product code.
NUS-NERE matches exactly with that part of its American label.
