View Full Version : X-Arcade Tankstick on Atari 2600... ?
I've got the Tankstick adapter which lets you use the controller on DC, PS1, PS2, GCN, & Wii. Now Id like to use it with my Atari 2600. From what I understand, there was an adapter that allowed for using Playstation controllers on an Atari. Anyone have one of those? Im looking to plug that adapter into the PS1 port on my tankstick adapter.
Well, I have managed to accomplish the task using an Edladdin Seagull 78 Genesis to Atari 7800 adapter along with a Tototek Playstation to Genesis adapter (obtained at the Tototek website). Another cheaper way (that is not fully compatible with 7800 games which use two buttons as opposed to one) is to use a $12 B.E.'s Genesis to Atari systems cable (from the Best Electronics website) connected to the Tototek adapter.
I have also had success getting my 7800 Robotron 2084 game working very well with simultaneous use of right and left sticks by putting adapters into both controller ports. The two sticks also can be used to play 2600 games that specifically have the two-joysticks-at-once feature: Stargate (Defender II), Spy Hunter, Solaris, Riddle of the Sphynx, and Radar Lock.. The two I've so far tried out- Stargate and Spy Hunter- were pretty fun to play :)
