I picked up a Wii U Pro Controller under the assumption I'd be able to use it instead of a Wii remote. Much to my dismay, when I loaded up Super Mario Brothers U, the ability to use a Wii U Pro Controller was not an option. Am I missing something? It seems bizarre I would not be able to use the Pro controller for the game.

Well, you can't use the Classic controller for New Super Mario Bros. Wii either, so I'm not surprised. It still relies on the moving of the Wiimote for Mario's spin jump I would assume.

That's very strange. I know on Black Ops II you can use the Gamepad, Wiimote and Nunchuck, Wii U pro controller and the classic controller pro.

I think the Pro Controller was designed mainly for use with third party core games, such as Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, Mass Effect, etc. Thats why it's so closely modeled off of the 360 pad. I'm sure you'll still be able to use it for atleast some of Nintendo's first party games, unless they really want you to use the tablet/Wiimote controllers.

How are the sticks? The tablet's sticks are just a little too loose for my taste. They about the same or tighter?

I don't have a WiiU, but that really annoyed me with NSMBW. Like they couldn't have mapped that spin jump to a button when you use a CC or something...
