Hello
I'm going to use a closet for all my boxed and loose games. I'm going to screw small strips of wood on the left and right walls, right into the studs. My question is, the shelves will span the whole width of the closet, 42" is that going to be a problem with the shelve sagging at that width? I'm using Pine? not sure of how thick the shelves should be at that width. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Dave

Run a brace lengthwise on the underside of the shelf or a support bracket in the middle against the back wall. 1" thickness will be fine for that span as long as you add a little support.

Yes maybe a small L shape bracket in the middle (or where their is a stud)

Thanks for the response wiggyx.
