I've been on the boards a while now and so far I don't believe I've seen anyone from Louisiana.

So, am I imagining it, or do I have this state to myself here? I'm the only person I know personally into classic gaming, but I know that there are others in LA, even in Slidell (judging by how many times I show up too late at garage sales).

Also, is the AGE show the closest gaming expo to me? I mean thats still like 10 hours away for me and, being only 16, it'll be a couple years before I'll ever make that one.

Just a little plug for my show...couldn't resist. Although I still think distance wise my show is about as far from you as the AGE show was.

I live in Slidell, which is about 45 minutes from New Orleans.

From Slidel to Tulsa (OKGE) is:

Total Estimated Time: Total Distance: 789.48 miles
12 hours, 52 minutes

From Slidell to Austin (AGE) is:

Total Estimated Time: Total Distance: 622.19 miles
10 hours, 10 minutes

Numbers are from www.mapquest.com

If I was allowed to go to one, I'd be allowed to go to the other. But, being 16, I don't think my parents are into the idea of me having a road trip like that. :( I guess I just have to wait for a New Orleans Expo, or until I move out...

while a NO Expo would be great (considering all the "other" things the city has to offer), I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for one. GameTrader/GameSwitch is the only (to the best of my knowledge) local company that deals in classic games, and while I'm sure they'd like to have something closer to home than CGE to attend I just don't see enough interest (and money) in the surrounding areas to warrant a seperate show.

Now, there used to be big "fairs" in the Superdome three or four times a year where you could make off with tons of stuff for cheap (not just games.. all kinds of merchandise), but I don't know if those types of things are still being held. And if they are still being held, I don't know if they'd have anything older than Playstation available. The flea markets and pawn shops in New Orleans aren't the greatest place to find stuff either, but I suppose they could be worse. Just don't be surprised when they start trying to sell you guns and jewelry as well as games. :P
