Great selection, great prices, great service. I've ordered many things from them and never had anything to complain about. I think they still have Action Replays for the Saturn in stock....

Other stores I've heard great things about:
shop.himeya.com
www.japanvideogames.com
www.wolfgames.com
www.videogamedepot.com

Can't think of any more online retro shops....

I highly recommend NCSX as well, and I'd also list:

www.thewestexit.net James over there is awesome :)

www.markinjapan.com He's not around right now, but he can get LOTS of stuff!

and of course my site, Max's Game Corner (cheap self-pimp!): http://www.angelfire.com/rpg2/maxlords/ I've got a small stack of PCE, Saturn, SFC, and PSX imports available...few hundred including multiple copies of some! I like to think I'm reliable.......just wish I had the inventories of some of those guys with better sources! *sniff*

I've got a bunch listed on the OPCFG - which reminds me, if anyone can point me to any sites for importers that I don't have listed there, please do - but I haven't shopped at any of them. Then again, with a contact in Japan, do I really need to?

See my list, I have a few you don't.

Yes, just add the www & .com to the names I've listed.

ie www.dcslinks.com or www.play-asia.com

Just to give a UK based importer a plug, Videogameimports (http://www.videogameimports.com) are well worth a try. :)

I'm hoping TO go into business one day. At the moment my site runs from my bedroom and the closest I can get to taking credit cards is via paypal. Still, it IS just a hobby .. certainly doesn't pay my bills as any money I get tends to go back on games. :D

Yeah, but I just couldn't keep up w/ it. I always prided myself w/ never screwing anyone, always having cheaper prices, and only about 2-3 days extra shipping time than the next guy. I was busy w/ work, and the the turn around time was slipping. Then, everyone and their dogs sister that lived in Japan or had a friend go to Japan was suddenly an importer. It was hard to undercut everyone by 20% like I used to.

For what it's worth, I think I can say I was one of the first to do what I did, and hopefully that little Ebay/selling stint helped the competition get tougher and the prices cheaper for everyone. Guess I'll never know.

www.videogameimports.com are indeed awesome. They have virtually EVERYTHING. Shipping isn't too bad, and the sales-tax is deducted for US customers.

Great service too, and the best selection of Saturn and PC engine stuff anywhere.

One thing though. I had to call them once to sort out a problem, only one problem, I couldn't understand what the hell the guy was saying. So I just said, I'll e-mail you about this and hung up.

I don't know if it's appropriate to recommend an Ebay seller, but in my experience the seller 16-bit (go to www.mad-gear.com for a link to their Ebay items) is great.

I've bought games from them several times and it's always fast. Items come well-packed and are just like the descriptions. There's usually a good selection. Prices vary, but if you find something at a good price, don't hesitate to BIN (most of the auctions are Buy It Now!).

I'd also like to second NCS, Wolfgames, and Tronix. Always reliable. Any preorders I do, I always do with NCS -- www.ncsx.com .

16-Bit is always pretty darn high on their prices for the most part. Every once in a while ,you can snake a deal from them, but they're few and far between. Amazing selection for an eBay dealer tho!

Yeah, they do have a good selection usually! I hear you about the prices -- sometimes there's some way out stuff. But I think there's reasonably good prices there, certainly competitive and sometimes significantly cheaper than, say, Wolfgames (not that he's known for cheap prices either).

Of course, both Wolfgames and 16-bit are highly reliable (items well packed and in the exact condition they said they were in, fast shipping, etc), and that's worth a lot to me. But I'm always looking for new places! I've gotten a couple new ones to try from this thread alone. :-P
