My girlfriend gifted us for our anniversary with an overnight weekend trip to Ventura. I am very lucky to be with her in many ways, including the fact that she doesn't mind hitting thrift stores, which we did in Ventura, Oxnard and Santa Barbara. :)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/orangest/CIMG4088_zps031df859.jpg
These were various Goodwill finds: the Xbox Star Wars games were $1 each, PS1 Rampage Through Time was $.75 (that Goodwill was having a 50% off sale). PS2 Mister Mosquito was $3.99 and DC Resident Evil 2 was $2.99.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/orangest/CIMG4089_zps846b3e8e.jpg
More Goodwill...this one was also having 50% off everything so Final Fantasy II, FF III, Secret of Evermore and Donkey Kong Country 2 ended being $1.99 each.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/orangest/CIMG4091_zps2dd3099a.jpg
PS2 Suikoden III was $4.99 and PS1 Aquanaut's Holiday was $4.95 at hole in the wall thrifts.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/orangest/CIMG4094_zpsa10976a7.jpg
This was the last find heading home, at a St. Vincent de Paul thrift in Oxnard. I found the case on a shelf with the manual and the map sitting under it. No disc to be found. I was going to buy it anyway, but decided to check the CD area that I had scanned before just in case. There was a pile of 3 loose discs that I hadn't looked through before and I figured what were the odds. Turned out the odds were pretty good. :) Paid a grand total of $.99.

PS2 slim complete with....Snes and Nes hook ups $14.14
Silent Hill: HD Collection(360) $19.99
A Love To Kill dvd $4
Star Wars: Battlefront II(Xbox) $4
Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic II(Xbox) $4
Mario Kart 64(N64) free
The PS2 slim came with all the neccesary wires(power brick and a/v cables) already hooked up. However, there was no dualshock 2 controller with it. Instead it came with a Snes controller, Snes power adapter and Nes RF cable. I guess this makes it a universal system. Still couldn't beat it for that price and I have plenty of PS2 controllers lying around here. When I bought the Star Wars games at Goodwill the cleark didn't ring up Mario Kart. I had thought he wrung them up cheaper than the normal $4 they usually go for because he looked at all three before putting them in my bag. But when checking my receipt at home he seemed to have forgotten to add it:oops: And although I didn't know it at the time I'm pretty sure A Love To Kill is a bootleg so I won't be selling that once I watch it. Silent Hill HD was found at Best Buy.

Japanese Phrases For Dummies 25 cents
Xbox Controller S sealed $10
Heavenly Sword(PS3) $4
Lexar 32 gb flash drive $13
Metroid Prime(GC) $4
1 vs 100(DS) $4
Anti-Grav demo(PS2) $1
Shin Magami Tensei: Nocturne strategy guide
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within preoder art book
Ultimate Spider-Man demo $1
Gradius Breakdown dvd $1
Blood Rayne II demo(Xbox) $1
Second Sight bonus dvd $1
Namco Museum Vol. 1(PS1) $1
Monster Rancher preorder cards
The stuff not priced(POP art book, SMT: Nocturne guide and Monster Rancher 4 cards) were all $2. I was at a flea market and this dude had a bunch of preorder swag and demo disc. I had a good majority of what he had but there was still some decent finds in there. I also got the Metroid Prime and 1 vs 100 from him. I can't wait to try out 1 vs 100, although I know it will NEVER compare to the XBL live show from a few years ago:( Heavenly Sword was from Goodwill but I need to swap the case since it looks like someone spilt coffee on it. It was nice finding another sealed controller S because those things are still pretty hard to find, atleast sealed they are. I'm thinking about giving the Japanese phrase book to my neice but first I'm going to see if I can learn alittle from it.

Mario Party 5(GC) $4
Crazy Taxi(DC) $4
Crazy Taxi 2(DC) $4
All of these were from Goodwill the other day. I should have swapped out Mario Party 5's case because it needs some work. And to this day I have still never played any of the three Crazy Taxi games so I'm keeping these for my collection.

My work Secret Santa picked this up for me:

The game is Korean, but obviously the Insane Edition stuff is PAL. Does anyone know if the codes will work with a US Xbox/XBL Account? They are UbiSoft codes, not XBL codes.

That's a beauty right there! Truly a great find if ever there was one. ;)
I haven't really found much of anything special lately but then I've not been putting in any effort to really look either. I missed out on a pristine Grandia Xtreme that my old GS store had gotten traded in. The GS price is only $10 which I would have happily paid but it sold before I could get to the store. :|
I've noticed they're slashing prices on older stuff like DS and PS2 so I've been venturing around to various stores around town trying to find some titles I don't have yet for the cheap. In the last couple of days I've picked up Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, Cate West: Vanishing Files, Sudoku Mania, Kirby: Mass Attack, I ♥ Geeks, and Lego Indiana Jones 1 & 2; all on DS.

haven't posted in quite a while on this particular thread...but have been recently over the last couple months rebuilding my snes collection that i sold over the summer....i currently own a measly 51 snes titles all cart only....nothing of real high value to speak of...but some of the greats...the dkc trilogy, star wars trilogy, all the mortal kombats, street fighters, clay fighter trilogy....etc....
but anyway christmas eve my wife gave me batman returns for snes and i also picked up mass effect 3 for $8 @ blockbuster.....
a couple weeks ago i got a pretty good deal on an n64 set....i got the console with all hookups, 4 controllers, jumpack, expansion pack, memory card and 27 games for $80. Some of the highlights include conkers bad fur day and zelda majora's mask....all were cart only.....
anyway i hope everyone else had a wonderful christmas and a safe and happy new year

Finally got myself a SNES so I used the xmas dough to start a collection.
Goof Troop (SNES) - $4 - Heard good about this one and it's by capcom, so I figured i'd give it a go. Seems to go for more online.
Wordtris (SNES) - $4 - Played this one before, not a steal but worth $4.
Yogi Bear (SNES) - $8 - The first video game I've ever played and owned. had to get it when I saw it. I missed this guy. Seems I paid the normal fair amount, but it goes for a few bucks more on ebay.
Super Turrican - $8 - Love the Turrican series, still have yet to find a decently priced mega turrican but this will do until then. Appears to go for about twice as much now.
I'd have gotten more, but most of the SNES commons like tiny toons, tetris 2 and animaniacs were priced twice as much as their value (gee, maybe if there's 7 cartridges of the same game in a row and none of them are moving, it's not worth $8?)
Genesis Games:
Wardner CiB - $7 - Got a pretty good deal on this one. Neat little platformer, but to me this game really shines with the exquisitely realistic depictions of the cartoony in-game enemies and how serious the boxart is.
Atomic Runner Boxed - $4 - From what I can tell this was an absolute steal to find, and a pretty neat game as well.
Bio Hazard Battle CiB - $3 - Grabbed this when I saw the price sticker. Amusingly enough, the same store was selling a copy of this game, cart only, with tons of label damage for $8 the last time I went there.
I spent about $40 in total, taxes considered, and the store was running a deal where you get a $10 gift card to the store if you spend that much. I'd have used it there but due to a combination of the previously mentioned SNES overpricing and the fact that the person I was going shopping with was getting annoyed at how long I took to decide what to get, I decided to save it for later.

I tried Yogi Bear SNES on an emulator. So slippery, Yogi was nearly uncontrollable. :(
I'd have to say I'd recommend the Game Boy game over that. (while the GB game was nothing memorable, it was at least playable which is already a lot better than a lot of licensed games)

While visiting a friend on Boxing Day, I discovered a games/dvd store down the road. Now their pricing for games are through the roof, and the DVD prices aren't much better. But they had a a couple of Boxing Day sales going on, so I bought some more anime DVDs.
The following three DVDs were buy 2 get 1 free:
Grave of the Fireflies for $29.99 - This is the original release by Central Park Media. It has extra bonus features that aren't included in the re-release from Sentai Filmworks.
Nadia The Secret of Blue Water Volume 1 for $14.99 - So, now I've got the first two volumes of the series. Actually, it looks like the individual volumes are cheaper to obtain than the boxsets.
Origin: Spirits of the Past for Free - I watched this on Netflix a long time ago, and thought it was pretty decent.
Sherlock Hound Case File 5 for $7.99 - I mostly picked this up because I like the art style, and because it was 20% off.

Yogi Bear's Goldrush actually almost came out on the gamegear too; there's beta ROMs of it floating around. Personally, I find the SNES (and genesis in europe) Yogi Bear game a bit better due to the outstanding music for a license and unfathomable amounts of nostalgia. Yogi Bear's GoldRush is by no means a bad title, though.
EDIT: Also, found a copy of Ape Escape for the PS1 @ reuzit for $3 that works like a dream but has one of those crappy blockbuster disc protection doohickeys stuck on there. Is there any way to get them off without ruining the game? My copy of FF8 has the same thing and, judging by the fact that I need to swap in a backup every time there's a cutscene so I can pass it without freezing, it's not protecting anything.

This is the best DVD you found, these volumes are getting to be pretty expensive. I only found one of these, Case File 4 at a thrift store. Of course Case File 4 is the only volume that's somewhat cheap, the rest are expensive. This series had Hayao Miyazaki involved so it's sought after.

I had a Hollywood Video sticker on a Metal Slug X I bought from someone on here years ago. I think I just took a hairdryer to it and slowly peeled it off. Luckily, I didn't damage the disc.

That's why it's one of the only series I ever got on Bit Torrent. I didn't want to put too much money in it to relive part of my childhood.

I just looked up the prices on Amazon, and boy are they expensive! As for Hayao Miyazaki's involvement, I think he only worked on four episodes and then went on to create Nausicaa.

Although that is a good price for the complete series, I'm only interested in obtaining certain volumes. Specifically, the ones containing episodes 9 to 22, and 35 to 39. I'm not wasting my money on those horrible "island" episodes or the movie.

Haven't found too much these days game wise though today I stumbled upon a Goodwill TV sale. Any TV was $0.99.
Picked up a Sony WEGA 32" television when I remembered a thread on these boards about the best TVs to use for classic gaming. The WEGA line came up a lot so when I saw this I jumped at it.
Now the price was a buck but the cost- one strained back and shoulders from hauling this beast upstairs and a damaged doorframe trying to get it into my game room.

No flea market picks..
My friend who goes picking is in FL on vacation, doing flea markets out there..( I love hearing the stories of what sells there and what people look for comparing to NJ.
None of my friends have been doing anything here, the weathers just been lousy,I totally missed a local indoor flea market,I didn’t even know they were doing it..
I got some items though..
Al these discs are scuffed-scratched(SAD)..These were out of around 70 scuffed xbox 360 game discs.
I am going to have most polished..
Someone decided to pretend play Shinobi with game discs..

I envy you. That lot would have filled 5-6 holes I've had in my collection easy. :)
I stopped into a few retro mom n' pop stores over the weekend and found a few things. At one location I snagged a pair of cheap CIB Genesis golf games, namely Chi Chi's Pro Challenge Golf and PGA Tour Golf for $2 each. At another location I picked up Juggernaut on PS1, Disney's Mickey & the Magical Mirror, and Disney's Hide & Sneak for $5 each. I bought a couple of DS games last week that I didn't realize I already had so I went to return those and picked up Color Cross on DS and Fortune Street for Wii. I lucked out because right now GS has their DS and Wii games marked B2G1F so I got the Color Cross for free. :)

I <3 reuzit shops.
Lion King (Genesis) Complete in Box w/manual, PRISTINE condition on all parts, even has an ad for genesis gargoyles and a huge poster for genesis/snes jungle book in there!
ONE DOLLAR.
I know it's not a rare game, but this was really neat to come across. Only the second time I've found a poster inside a game, too (first was a CiB bonanza bros I got for $2 from a reseller that had some patent slip and a toejam and earl/SEGA lineup double-sided promotional poster behind the manual)
Note this is the same place that I got the ape escape for $3. I think they misfiled this as a videotape, as I saw 2 loose genesis games in a locked case for $3 each (ecco and some golf game, neither worth it and I have a boxed ecco already anyway). This essentially means that boxed genesis games there are going to be one-third the price of loose ones now and in the future :P
An interesting thing to note about this is that it's got a virgin assembly sticker slapped on the back of the cartridge and was made in mexico, so it's probably a later re-release compared to the loose copy I have that's just the standard SEGA assembly indentation. At the very least, though, it was made during the genesis' lifespan (unlike all of the majesco GameGear reprints) due to the fact that there's jungle book and gargoyles "coming soon" ads thrown in there. I can't tell if it's the normal cart shape or the pain-in-the-ass slightly wider cart for later releases/reprints like pacman 2 and vectorman 2 have since my genesis isn't here, but I'm hoping it's just the normal mold.
