I took a video of my Sega 32x collection that I would like to share with you guys. I know 32x wasn't the greatest but I invested in buying one anyways and I really like it. It is a beautiful machine and turns the Genesis into a serious power horse. If you guys have a Sega 32X collection, share yours as well... let me know what games are good. I want to film my NES, Saturn, Genesis, SNES collection as well in the future.

thank you for sharing. I love the 32x and don't see why it gets so much hate.

I agree, once I started playing it... man, people just don't realize the potential that this thing had! I played a lot of the games I collected on 32x thinking to my self... "WOW, this is playing on a console that originally released in 1988!!" Some serious power and I truly appreciate the 32x just for that alone.

The 32X really is under-appreciated.
Virtua Fighter for 32X is still my favourite console port of that game, and Shadow Squadron remains one of my favourite space shooters.
Space Harrier and After Burner are close enough to the arcade for me, and I always wished Sega had ported Turbo Outrun as well.
There are still a few 32X games that I want to play through that I haven't gotten around to, now that I think of it. Kolibri looks interesting.

I would have to say that Afterburner 32x is what made me want to buy one, even though I can't play the game all that well... but damn do I love to just see the game in action. It's 16-bit eye candy for me.

32X is amazing. So underrated. Mortal Kombat II is easily may favorite MK game and I adore the 32X version. Very cool stuff guy! Nice video made me have some serious nostalgia.

Probably gets so much hate because it had so little support, which left owners feeling pretty burned.

It could have used another year of support, for sure.
Compared to it's contemporaries(CD-i, 3DO, Jaguar), it actually has a decent library, though.
Only the 3DO is better imo, and that thing cost more than a Genesis, Sega CD, and 32X combined.

I would love to have a 3DO and a copy of Need for Speed.

I personally wish there had been more than the handful of 32X CD games released. When you see the video quality that comes out of the system it's very cool to know this is late 90s hardware.

Actually, it was released in 1994.

My parents got me a 32x along with Virtua Racing for Christmas 1994. Maybe the best gift ever.
I never understood the whole 'hurr looks like a mushroom' business people used to mock it. I had a Genesis 1, it didn't look like a mushroom at all to me. Then, recently I finally saw a picture of one plugged into a model 2, and it all made sense. The ads for the 32x displayed it in a model 2, but the picture was taken from a 3/4 'skycam' photo, much like emo teen girls taking MySpace pics of themselves for 'optimal angle'.
Gosh it looks awkward in a Model 2.
This system was my only avenue for playing Doom back then. I had no knowledge of the coming SNES version, and my parents certainly weren't eager to drop the massive cash for a PC back then. I had a great time with 32x Doom, and didn't mind at all about the border, bad music, or 'always facing you' sprites. I had Doom, and it was awesome. I recently found the receipt detailing what my parents paid to get me Doom: $69.99 at Software Etc. ! ! ! I'm very thankful to them for all the (expensive) gifts I got that holiday season..
Can't talk about the 32x without mentioning SPACE HARRIER. This was my chance to finally own the arcade version at home. It was the best! With a Sega arcade stick, I actually prefer it to the arcade version. Why? No return-to-center gameplay. I prefer the stick-and-shoot style employed by the 32x port, as I'm not constantly fighting gravity pulling me back toward the middle of the screen.
Afterburner was another wonderful arcade port. Virtua Fighter played, looked, and sounded terrific! Metalhead was.. well.. it was different. I actually spent quite a bit of time with that one, maybe trying to convince myself that it really was good! It's certainly not bad, though. I remember coming upon that portrait of Sonic the hedgehog (in lights) on the side of a building during a night level, cool stuff. Got to the end boss, but never did beat it.
Those were the only games I owned for the system in its day, but since I've picked up Star Wars, Shadow Squadron, Kolibri, and Knuckles Chaotix. I look forward to finding more games for the 32x, and have only fondness for the add-on.

I can tell you that Doom 32x is much better then the SNES version. I used to own the SNES version and man... 32x version is way way way better. The Atari Jaguar version is great as well.
