I heard about this a long while back and decided to open the cart today. Lo and behold there is a black adapter type deal that has connects two boards together. This will work for playing Famicom games on the US system? Does anything on the adapter need to be modified to accept the famicom carts such as breaking off the two plastic tabs on the sides of the converter that connected it the the cartridge housing? I don't have any famicom carts to test and was just wondering who else has done this..

I know it's possible....|tsr has a short article about it on his old NES Archive (http://atarihq.com/tsr) I got one in a Stack-Up cartridge.

In Expert Gamer issue #81 (March 2001), there was a bit on that in the International Gamer section. Coincidentally, that issue had the first bit I'd ever seen on Wily & Light's Rockboard: That's Paradise.

Yep, I do have the adapter according to the website listed above. Pretty cool. Although, I have no famicom games, and probably won't be getting any anytime soon. If anyone has a need for this adapter, let me know.

I found my first one. This weekend at a swap meet. I was digging through a box and there were alot of black box 5 screw carts. So I was picking them up, kinda weighing them in my hand. And the Wrecking Crew was way heavier. I had been doing this for a while now but never felt one this heavy. Did I say how surprised I was at the weight. You can feel it. Anyways bought it and a Wavebird for 8$ total. Got home and opened that bad boy up and wuaalla! Inside the cart theres 2 boards and the adapter. This accounts for the weight. 3x as heavy. But ya I did my little dance. I'm going to do one of the mods this week. I have a toaster. I'm excited. Then I'm gonna get some Famicom games! YES! Does anyone know if say these carts are worth more because they are the official oldest carts in America kinda thing? Or do people try to get complete sets of these? Just wondering. I'm stoked. YEEEE HAAAAA!
